I do agree that it felt notably sci-fi-less. My initial reaction was just "what?! it's just a bunch of humans! what the hell is Torchwood doing there?" However Jack jumping in and kicking everyone's ass was highly enjoyable, you must admit. :P

Oh yeah it was enjoyable, just sort of deux ex :P. I have to edit in some Scarface quotes to that scene I think.

Harrumph. . .

Ben Dawson November 23, 2006 5:38 AM

well, if you think about it, their job is to investigate possible alien threats...that was a possible alien threat was it not?

Danny Stewart November 23, 2006 9:21 AM

It doesn't really matter to me... MI7 said it best when he said he wants science fiction in his sci-fi. I feel the same.

Ross Hendrie November 23, 2006 11:43 AM

Uh, as I recall it said in the description that this show isn't total Sci-Fi. I thought it was a welcome change from doomsday aliens.

Danny Stewart November 23, 2006 2:10 PM

Well that sucks. I don't want a non-sci-fi Doctor Who spinoff!

So I guess it's "Crime" as well though Sci-Fi is still the primary genre and the most common thing it's listed under :P. If I wanted a story like this weeks I would watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or The Hills Have Eyes, not Torchwood.

Danny Stewart November 23, 2006 2:30 PM

Thank you very much, MI7! See, Ross, it is considered both science fiction and crime drama, which means it should have both and not just one of them!

Jez November 23, 2006 3:02 PM

Over a series, not one programme...when aliens kill, it can't be considered a crime because they're alien.....they don't live by our laws.

Danny Stewart November 23, 2006 3:02 PM

Hush you. :P

You can say that as much as you want. It doesn't make it true. :P

Ben Dawson November 24, 2006 1:50 PM

what does pwned actually mean anyway

Ross Hendrie November 24, 2006 2:41 PM

I dont quite know actually lol. Just beaten or something I think.

Ben Dawson November 24, 2006 2:49 PM

I thought it must have been something like that, it's not to bad, I could be one of the people that think lol means "Lots of Love" (like my mum), but I'm not...Lol (laugh out loud):P

Danny Stewart November 24, 2006 5:27 PM

"Pwned" is the "l33t" form of "owned."

Ben Dawson November 24, 2006 5:47 PM

ah...huh? What does that mean in that sense of the word?

Danny Stewart November 24, 2006 5:50 PM

Owned. Means you had your ass thoroughly kicked. :P

Ben Dawson November 25, 2006 4:57 AM

ah, I SEE. Thanks, I thought it must have been something like that
