Well better not have them next year before it does become a tradition/

Danny Stewart May 1, 2007 12:09 PM

Agreed with Ronn. We do not need the Daleks every year, and if it's starting to become a tradition, then let's break it now while we still can.

Ross Hendrie May 1, 2007 4:12 PM

I think that it's been partly broken this year. We've got a non-Dalek enemy in the finale, that's probably a step forward.

Danny Stewart May 1, 2007 5:45 PM

lol. Ross, you can't "partly" break a "Daleks return every year" tradition in a year in which they use the Daleks. :P

It is progress though, so still...

robertbeare May 2, 2007 4:22 AM

The daleks will be back by next series , and its back in the future as ive heard from newspaper that dalek fights a tank, and ive heard on the radio that after a next series they will be getting new doctor

robertbeare May 2, 2007 4:27 AM

Trust me daryl the tank will lose to the superior dalek , they are much better !!

Ronnie Rowlands May 2, 2007 7:17 AM

David Tennant is meant to be leaving in the middle of series 4.

Ben Dawson May 2, 2007 8:52 AM

There's only ever been one regeneration before the end of a series, and that was the 5th Doctor's regeneration into the 6th, and even then, there was only one 6th Doctor episode that season. But nothing's official yet he hasn't officially announced he will be leaving.

Why the F... is he doing that he's the best.

Ross Hendrie May 2, 2007 11:26 AM

There were rumours he was giving it up after season 3 but that's not true. I think maybe after series 4 he'll start thinking about giving it up but probably not before then.

Danny Stewart May 2, 2007 12:52 PM

Nothing you hear about David Tennant leaving at the end of the fourth series is true. He has committed at least to the entire fourth series, and he loves the role, so don't expect him to give it up any time soon.

Ronnie Rowlands May 2, 2007 1:39 PM

That's good. I don't know why Patrick Troughton went around telling the other Doctors to "only do 3."

Ben Dawson May 2, 2007 3:10 PM

Actually, he only advised Peter Davison to do 3, Peter Davison passed on the infomation to Slyvester McCoy.

Danny Stewart May 2, 2007 5:10 PM

I never knew Peter Davison passed that along to Sylvester McCoy.

Ronnie Rowlands May 3, 2007 3:01 AM

Yeah, Ben's right. That's kind of what I meant, in a way, PT kind of started it. Not that Sylvester had much choice, they binned Doc Who after series 3.

Ben Dawson May 3, 2007 4:57 AM

Actually, Sylvester McCoy only got 2 seasons, his last season was season 26.

Ronnie Rowlands May 3, 2007 5:09 AM

I think you'll find Sylvester McCoy had 3 series'.

Ben Dawson May 3, 2007 5:25 AM

Yes, your right, right you are.

MI7 May 4, 2007 10:56 AM

There was something a while back (no idea how true it is) that McCoy would stay on into Season 27 had the show not been canceled, though Sophie Aldred would have been replaced halfway through the season after he contract ran out, apparently with a character who was a " female safecracker whom the Doctor would have taken under his wing, with her gangster father as a recurring character." This was taken from interviews made afterwards with the principal members of production - the only thing said about replacing McCoy was that one of the actors in the forefront was Richard Griffiths, who had been considered for the Fifth Doctor.

So that pretty much for definite says that McCoy would have done more that three seasons if he could have - it's the only evidence there probably ever will be either way on the subject.
