I agree with both Danny and Ross here, RTD does take too much of it into his own hands, and there has been a dip in the quality of his episodes, his two parters i really enjoy, and i see no reason why he can't keep doing those, as he has more space allowed, but i reckon for all single episodes should be given to other people, he needs to try and relinquish some of his power, he knows how to take the series forward, no question, but it's the way he moves it forward.

Danny Stewart April 15, 2007 8:12 PM

I agree with you. Look at how many episodes RTD has written -- it's really quite unfair to other writers.

2005 - 9 by RTD, 5 by other writers
2006 - 6 by RTD, 7 by other writers
2007 - 6 by RTD, 7 by other writers

That's a grand total of 21 Doctor Who episodes by RTD, and 19 by other authors. Russell T Davies is just one man who has written over 50% of the entire new series so far. Think about the fact that "other writers" includes well over half a dozen different writers. That means that Russell T Davies has written around 55% of the series, whereas each other writer has written only around 6% or 7%. That's just wrong, in my view.

It just goes to show what i big grip he has on the franchise,, he really should loosen it and write much less, make room for other people to try thier hand, i mean, they can hardly do worse then him.

Ross Hendrie April 17, 2007 2:15 PM

They do that? Damn, silly RTD. :P

Also, I agree with you Chris about the dip in the quality of his episodes. Although, has there ever been a peak? :P

Ross Hendrie April 18, 2007 12:22 PM

We should actually create a banner of shame where the worst quote of the week goes up. :P

Chris Britton April 18, 2007 12:38 PM

Two can play at that game, Jez. Although none of your quotes this week particularly suck so I'll have to nominate the only one you've made. :P

Katja April 21, 2007 9:30 AM

I loved last weeks episode! It was the best one of this series so far in my opinion... But the one we'll get this evening might be even better. :)

Danny Stewart April 21, 2007 9:59 AM

Thanks for posting, Katja. :D

FanOfWho September 29, 2007 9:43 AM

I was waiting for this one for ages for the boes message (even though I knew what it was) and his death scene was realy sad (Not as sad as rose's).
9/10

Ben Dawson September 29, 2007 3:36 PM

But...Rose didn't die...???

Ronnie Rowlands September 30, 2007 3:16 PM

I think that what "FanOfWho" is trying to say if he had but the words, is that the scene was almost as sad as Rose's *departure*
