Oh, no, never mind, you're probably right. My caring doesn't reach past downloading new Doctor Who episodes and endorsing free and open source software. It's not like I created an entire internet community for some people to meet others with similar interests and make new friends to talk about the things they loved, the passions they shared, and the problems they had in everyday life. Why don't you ask Chris how much I care about other people and see what he says? Or Ross even? Or maybe some of my friends? Because I think you'll get a very different answer than the conclusion you just jumped to. Quote:
Seriously though, you'll be missed and I'm sorry you're leaving just because of a disagreement. Thank you for all the help you gave me regarding my new computer, and all the fun conversations we used to have before I apparently only started caring about downloading Doctor Who and converting you to the dark side of Linux and Firefox. Best of luck in your future. |
Sorry, Ross, I didn't notice your post.

Of course you're welcome to your viewpoint -- I'm just trying to offer you an alternative you may or may not appreciate, and since you are asking me questions I'm simply trying to provide you some answers. |

Don't you all think this debate is getting out of hand?
Danny, if people want their computers to be filled with spyware and viruses even after you have told them why that is wrong, then just let them. It'd be a better lesson for something to happen like them to lose all their data than you going on at them when they arn't going to change their mind because of what you say. Ross, have you tried looking yourself at what goes on with Linux? As that's the only way you are going to see whether your fears are true or not, not just going "OmGz, aNy1 c4N c teh c0dE!!11!!1 AnY1 c4N sUbM17!!1111!" and use your common sense, for the submissions by anyone with maliceous intent to reach your combuter it would first have to go through testing, be avalible for download and then you would have to update your computer with the maliceous code, I don't know whether or not that's the full picture but that's the impression I have got from looking around, perhaps Danny could explain the process in detail. Incidently, posts since an image of a desktop was posted... |

Leave Sam alone he's only giving his opinion.
Here's my desktop: Excuse the mess, I cant be bothered clearing all the installers and that away :P . |
Problem solved, Ross, I told him he was basing his opinion on no facts, so he's tried Firefox and now he says it's fantastic and he's converted. ;)
And i have tried at a friends house and it is great! Now i have to try Linux. :P
Can i just add seeing some of the things saidf in this topic does worry me slightly. |
What things said in this thread?
I think he means the fighting.
Yes, once agasin i must wittness two fo my best friends having an arguement which could be avioided if we left each other to our own devices, Please don't argue, I hate it, and you now know why i have a neutral opinion of things.
It's generally the best policy.
Exactly, and i don't want to argue with you lot :)
Because you know I always win, or at the very least never shut up until everyone else has backed off. :P
How do you post images? Whoops my mouse is falling to pieces... oops... my foot is trapped in the DVD drive  aaaowww... the ... speakers... are falling cant hold on tyo the keuy borud :( typinfgbn isdmnb lskdg, v.j,v vnc...
You post images like this:
[ img ] image URL [ / img ] (Except with no spaces in the tags.) |
why do you leave spaces in between, i don;t understand why really.
Because if I didn't, the board would try to post "image URL" as an actual image! Because then the actual original tags would be used. Get it?
You should make a code tag thing that lets you post BBCode and it shows up like a quote with the code visible on it if you get what im saying. Like what it has on invision free.
Ross has been full of ideas :P
It's easier just to put spaces... one less set of tags to manage. But I'll check it out next time I'm over at vbulletin.org.
