They're already doing that. Or well, trying to. The FDA and other people don't like it but are starting to slack off on the cloned meat laws.

I'd still like there to be some kind of large-scale experiment to prove or disprove that humans can live healthy lives without meat, as long as they know every single source from which to extract the vitamins. (Seaweed has a lot of Vitamin B12, so I've read) As long as they aren't pills.
Just looking at the accounts of vegetarians isn't enough. They may have health problems they aren't talking about or something. A fully conclusive, massive scientific study whose results cannot be disputed must be done. |
I'm no authority on the subject, but yes, it's been proven time and time again by studies.
Your protein needs from meat are EASILY filled from veggies, fruits, beans and grains. The only thing meat really has exclusively going for it is B12, but you can get that from supplements. Your body does NOT need meat. I'm going to see if I can dig up some of the official studies though. |
Which B vitamin is that? Like I said earlier, I think I read that Seaweed has an abundance of B12...
I don't like the idea of using supplements. Those are pills. I have a fear that pills like that tend to do harm as well... like shutting off your body's ability to synthesize vitamins or something. Oh and I did read an article about chickens being kept as pets. Farm animals still have a lot going for them even if they no longer are a meat source. :P |

As for supplements, as long as you get ones that are just the pure supplement and not full of other 'filler' crap, they're just fine. :) When I was growing up, we had chickens. Never killed them for meat, but they took care of bugs and gave great eggs. |
Ah, good then. :) Still, if what I've read is true, introducing seaweed into salads should definitely replace the need for supplements. That is truely an all-natural non-meat eating way to live.
I seriously sound like a tree-hugger right now don't I? :P But there are some downsides. I read that use of tofu can cause unnatural estrogen production in the body. I remember reading there was a way to fix it but I don't remember that article very well. |
Not sure on the tofu thing, but you don't need to eat it either.
Soy, tofu, etc... Don't forget all the other beans, grains, fruits, veggies.. so many options. Certain types of blue algae, algae, seaweed, etc are classified as "super foods" because they contain so many good things for you it's retarded. Mixing them into a food, salad, or even a health shake would be a very smart idea. I've recently tried some myself and love the stuff. My energy level has gone through the roof as well, eating differently. |
