I really think Skorr is a great character (didn't like him that much at first) and Murray Gold picked the best music for that scene.

Looks like there will be a lot of fighting.

And Liz Sladen is in Confidential!

Murray found some music appropriate to the situation? Rather then reusing pieces? Pinch me.

I'm sure many will disagree. We might have heard it before. Not sure!

I agree with you, and I would not be surprised if he did.

Love Martha. My favorite companion of the new series hands down.

I reccomend The Invasion of Time (The 3rd Doctor Who serial I ever saw!), The Two Doctors, The Sontaran Experiment, and, if you can get onto YouTube (it's apparently not working for me today!:(), Shakedown: Return of the Sontarans.

I love Martha as well. She was loads better than Rose. Donna was in between... I still like Donna just because of her personality. I can do that. Just on persoanlity I like a character.

Youtube's working again.

That was excellent, totally excellent. I'm not sure I like the Sontarans' new weakness but I guess they had to have one. :P ... that young guy's american accent sounded pretty off to me..

But I loved all the lines in the episode, particularly The Doctor's. But my favorite line was "He is too skinny for words! You give him a hug and you get a paper cut!"

I gotta say, I had low hopes for this series. I'm really glad they're not being met for the most part.

In other news... I'm not waiting on Sci-Fi channel anymore. I have The Poison Sky and The Doctor's Daughter downloaded, the former burning to a DVD right now. I'm glad I got my Media Center PC back, now I can have it do all that crap while I can freely use my mac.

Um, WTF? You are insane, sir. The probic vent weakness is directly out of the old series, and in fact made its debut in the very first Sontaran episode (The Time Warrior). In fact, the dialogue between the Doctor and Staal about the probic vent in The Sontaran Stratagem was extremely reminiscent of the dialogue between the Doctor and Linx about the same thing in The Time Warrior. I'm pretty sure at least one of the lines was even word for word, or damn close. Have you even seen any old series episodes with the Sontarans? Because I'm pretty sure the probic vent weakness has been exploited in every single one.

Superkid11 May 16, 2008 11:06 PM

The only one I've seen is the Sontaran Experiment. I don't remember it being exploited there...

If that's the case, then it's the only one.

Well at the end Harry sabotages Styre's ship so that it drains power out of his probic vent rather than providing power, and as he dies Styre staggers out of his ship clutching his probic vent. I'm pretty sure there was some explanatory dialogue too, but even so it's pretty explicit.

I guess I forgot about that. :P I do remember his head deflating though...

Wow. Your memory must be amazing.

Superkid11 May 16, 2008 11:16 PM

Yeah, I definitely got that from my parents. That and being unable to notice things right in front of me.

I loved this episode and The Poison Sky...I think in today's Doctor Who there is scope for such a wide mix of styles and The Sontaran Stratagem played to me very much like Rise of the Cybermen, as a very traditional old-style story, much suiting the return of an old enemy but keeping the pace and style etc of the new.
