I am on no-ones side, I am just stating a point form a neutral point of view.

I know Daleks are tough, But Danny, the point being if they were stuck on a planet with no way of escape, if the Planet was blown up, they would have no chance

Danny Stewart November 1, 2005 11:10 AM

I want $50,000. But I won't switch sides to get it.

Ross Hendrie November 1, 2005 4:14 PM

I dont understand...

Chris Britton November 2, 2005 4:57 AM

Danny, i did not switch sides. I am looking at this form both points of view, a Death Star could wipe out a planet and anything on it would be killed, But if the Daleks were aware of the impending destruction. They could get off quickly, or even laucnh an attack, becuase I know Daleks has better armor and weapons so they could quite easily go and blow up the thing before it fires., like in Star Wars IV,

But the best advantage, as a mate of mine just pointed out to me. Is that the Daleks could time travle, so if the planet blows up, the survivors could go back in time, and stop it form happening.

Danny Stewart November 2, 2005 6:54 AM

There's another point. Well done.

Chris Britton November 2, 2005 11:17 AM

Thanks, but thank my mate Steve. :D he reminded me, and he does not watch Doctor Who :P I can;t believe we forgot that :P

Danny Stewart November 2, 2005 1:04 PM

LOL! Well, tell Steve I said thanks. :)

Chris Britton November 4, 2005 3:40 AM

I will indeed :)

Now where were we. i thnk Max should say something

Max Yittreas November 4, 2005 2:38 PM

Dark Troopers>Daleks :P

Ross Hendrie November 4, 2005 3:56 PM

lol Daleks actually have living things inside, whereas Dark troopers are actually Droids lol.

Chris Britton November 4, 2005 4:10 PM

Yes, Good point, that would be interesting to see who would win. :P

Max Yittreas November 4, 2005 6:55 PM

Dark Troopers can have living things inside too. :P

Danny Stewart November 4, 2005 9:42 PM

Can we not go there please?

Max Yittreas November 4, 2005 9:57 PM

Erm... not like that.

:P

Danny Stewart November 5, 2005 12:56 AM

You know next to nothing about Daleks, so stop talking about them. I grow weary of this.

Chris Britton November 5, 2005 2:01 AM

I thnk this is quite a good debate. :) But that is my opinion, Not anyone elses :)

Danny Stewart November 5, 2005 2:05 AM

If you say so, Chris. Although Max really should learn a thing or two about Doctor Who. I'm rather disappointed in him for not giving it a try yet.

Ross Hendrie November 5, 2005 8:08 AM

But this is the spam forum? Cant we split this topic for our own private Dark Trooper vs. Dalek thread?

Danny Stewart November 5, 2005 11:50 AM

I won't endorse that, as I don't endorse Star Wars vs. Doctor Who in any way, especially with Max not knowing anything about the other side. If you want to start it, though, that's fine. But I'm not going to.

Max Yittreas November 5, 2005 9:11 PM

I don't have the hard drive space, Danny.

Danny Stewart November 6, 2005 1:00 AM

It's only like 4.5 GB. How can you not have 4.5 GB? Don't I recall you saying over summer that you'd have a new bigger hard drive by the end of summer anyway?

Max Yittreas November 6, 2005 1:14 PM

I hoped I would. It didn't happen. :(

Chris Britton November 6, 2005 3:56 PM

Sorry to hear that mate.

Danny Stewart November 6, 2005 5:27 PM

Still, I refer you back to my first question -- how can you not have 4.5 GB?

Chris Britton November 9, 2005 5:00 PM

How about we consult the person with Ultimate Knowledge. Adam! :D

Danny Stewart November 9, 2005 7:55 PM

Why would Adam know why Max doesn't have 4.5 GB of hard drive space? :P

Ross Hendrie November 10, 2005 11:02 AM

Because Adam said something about being omnipotent or something earlier lol.

Danny Stewart November 10, 2005 12:24 PM

Oh. Fair enough. Adam? :P

Max Yittreas November 11, 2005 2:20 PM

I don't have it, and even if I just had it or a few hundred megs over, I still need that space for something other than a mere television show, like term papers, graphics for school, music, a game or two, etc.

Danny Stewart November 11, 2005 6:28 PM

Mere? :P

And that's fine. I just can't imagine not having space, I guess. I have well over 800 GB total storage space on both of my computers combined.

Ross Hendrie November 12, 2005 8:06 AM

You dont need to rub it in Danny :P . I have approx. 10 GB of free space left on my laptop's 18.5 GB hard drive.

Danny Stewart November 12, 2005 9:44 AM

It's actually a 20 GB hard drive, Ross. They always make them like that, with not all of the space fully usable. I'm not sure why exactly. On my old computer, the overhead on the drive was so bad that only 131 GB was useable on a 160 GB drive!

And my laptop came with a 20 GB hard drive, but I upgraded it to a 40 GB. Now I'm safely dual booting Windows and Linux, and it works really well. I primarily use Linux only on my laptop, since the only reason I still use Windows is for either games, music editing, or video editing, and my laptop doesn't do any of those things anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Its because they are sold with the metric definition of tkilo, mega etc, kilo meaning 1,000 etc while the computer defines kilo, mega etc differently, kilo to the computer is 1,024. At small amounts the difference isn't noticable but when you deal with larger sizes it becomes more noticable.

Chris Britton November 12, 2005 5:34 PM

Danny has be to so special doesnt he? :P

Max Yittreas November 12, 2005 6:17 PM

Indeed... *throws an electromace to have something to do with the thread title* :P

Danny Stewart November 13, 2005 9:56 AM

LOL. Nice try there, Max. ;)

Max Yittreas November 13, 2005 1:58 PM

*electromace hits Danny in the groin* :P

Yeah, it was a good shot. :P

Danny Stewart November 13, 2005 3:31 PM

Max has clearly mistaken this mannequin for me. :P

Max Yittreas November 13, 2005 5:40 PM

*throws another mace, and hits the REAL Danny* Two for two! :P *throws another and breaks a window* ****...

Danny Stewart November 13, 2005 9:56 PM

Nice going, Max. :P
