I agree with you about TWOK having the greatest individual villian in all of Star Trek. You can ask every Star Trek fan if they know Khan and only about 2% of the people you ask will stupidly ask,"Who in the world is Khan?" Also, the suspence builds in TWOK. Sure, the beginning is slow and nothing is really happening, but hey, it's worth the wait to watch the Enterprise blow up the Reliant. (For those of you who don't know what the Reliant is, I feel sorry for you. It's Khan's ship if you're wondering.)

David Carter June 8, 2004 3:03 PM

Actually, Khan's ship was the Botany Bay. The U.S.S. Reliant was the Starfleet ship he took control of.

Bob Davis June 9, 2004 11:44 AM

But KHAN knew CHEKOV. How?

David Carter June 9, 2004 11:46 AM

He is a geneticly enhanced Human, I think he can read name tags. I have no idea. But every movie has holes in the plot.

Bob Davis June 9, 2004 11:57 AM

such as?

David Carter June 9, 2004 12:29 PM

Why did they kill off Data if they were going to have a character exactly like him replace him?

Datol Col June 9, 2004 3:08 PM

I think they did that because they wanted to torture the viewers by making them really sad. I was sort of sad when he died. I mean, he was my second favorite character for cryin' out loud!

David Carter June 9, 2004 6:20 PM

There was no point. That was the last movie for TNG and they messed it up by doing that. I hope the next movie is a DS9 one.

Datol Col June 9, 2004 6:21 PM

I hope so too. Even an Enterprise movie would be great.

David Carter June 9, 2004 6:41 PM

Yeah, but If they do an ENT one they will wait until the characters are more developed and there are more viewers.

Danny Stewart June 9, 2004 7:47 PM

Guys, there will (unfortunately) never be a DS9 movie. The sets were torn down (don't ask me why) and would be far too prohibitively expensive to recreate. Trust me, I've heard that from the top.

Quote:

Q: Any chance of a Deep Space Nine movie?
A: None. The reason why? Far too expensive to make. The cost of Deep Space Nine was huge - it was the most expensive TV show of the time. To rebuild the extensive sets alone would take millions of dollars. Plus all the actors would demand a lot more money to reprise their roles, as the "film clause" that is in the Enterprise actors, and The Next Generations actors contract is now expired.

Datol Col June 10, 2004 2:12 PM

That is F***ed up. C'mon everyone! We have to donate some cash so there will be a DS9 movie! Where's the address of where these people are. I will donate some money.

David Carter June 10, 2004 3:48 PM

Um, Col... Unless you secretly have millions stashed away in Switzerland, I dont think it will pay for the movie.

Bob Davis June 14, 2004 7:08 AM

Hey, there are millions of ST viewers who could all donate ten bucks. Thatsa lota money...

Datol Col June 14, 2004 3:19 PM

Yeah. David, post on startrek.com telling people to donate ten bucks to where ever the place is. Oh, and tell people to join Tetryon.

David Carter June 14, 2004 5:17 PM

First of all, unless they announce that they are TAKING donations, any money they recieve, they will just be like "Hey, free money!"
Second, I am always trying to recruit members to Tetryon.

Bob Davis June 15, 2004 10:13 AM

I'm trying to convert new trekkies, then I see about bringing them in2 the Trek community by having them join Tetryon. It really contributes to their religious fervor.

Datol Col June 15, 2004 12:30 PM

Good job David. Keep up the good work. I'ts pretty sad that a few of these new people aren't active. The inactive members were just kicked off.

David Carter June 17, 2004 5:11 PM

The good thing is that there are more active new members than inactive ones. At least there were. Now that it is summer, there arent as many active people.

Bob Davis June 18, 2004 7:10 PM

Odd. since its summer, ud think there would be more activity.
