Most powerful product on the market? As far as power goes, PCs>PS3.

Then again, as far as the PS3 in general stands, Commodore 64>PS3

And I was saying that I am not and will never be "used to it" because I think it's stupid and outrageous. I understood what you meant.

Well a lot of websites can have rubbishy review but you still have fair point.

I don't think it matters though. It depends what the player thinks. I'd give Resistance full marks. And COD4, Burnout there amazing, yes they are on XBOX too but so what. At the end of the day its what your playing that matters not really the console its on.

And good point Chris, I expect I'd feel exactly the same if I had payed before.

By the way guys call me Jamie, not Negative Cyberman, its a pain to type and a frankly awful username! :o

I think the PS4 will be a fantastic console, actually. The PS3 will be a wake-up call to Sony that nobody gives a shit about their proprietary crap of questionable sexuality.

I'm quite sure the Xbox720 or whatever it ends up being will not be as good as the 360 because Microsoft will start relying on brand power than trying to draw new customers, just like Sony did this generation (unless, of course, the 360 again comes dead last in the race). It's a cycle that every console manufacturer has gone through, and if Nintendo is anything to judge by, if they survive it they learn a lot from the 'arrogance' stage and come out of it better than ever (ref: Wii).

Here's a handy flowchart:

The thing is, there's actually more to play, and more worth playing, on the 360. The PS3 is by no means a bad console, it's just for this generation Microsoft is kicking the sh!t out of it with their library of games.

You could get Danny to change that for you, if you liked.

EDIT: the table break too easily :(

I suppose in al fairness the XBox has been out longer than the PS3 but I'm sure if they were released on the same day Xbox would still have more games.

I think developers are a bit scared of tackling the PS3 as its seen as a big monster graphic perfecting machine. This year is set to feed the PS3 more games as its been starved this year. And once developers get used to it (like with the PS2) there'll be thousands of games. (fingers crossed)

And hopefully less moive tie-ins.

I think for are next debate I'll talk about why the Wii is wasted . . . TBC

Well that will be when I do Crysis which will be Friday afternoon, as that when my weekend starts and lectures are done.

The thing, is everyone is probably afraid of the PS3 as there is so much on it and people are not sure how they can satisfy everyone. Sony have the arrogance card which is typical for consoles which have done well. Nintendo did it with the NES and the SNES and Microsoft have probably had it since Windows 95. This will will define how the PS3 does, and despite me not wanting one, I will not count myself out wanting one by 2009 as there will be a certain game which will define it. For me it was GT3 but like Halo for the original Xbox, there may be be a certain game which will convince me. Right now a Xbox360 is what I want, but I may change.

The reason I don't want a PS3 now is because there is too much I can do with it and I can already play music or play DVD's, it would be great to have a backup but i doubt I will need it. I just want a console which does what it wants. I almost got a 360 to play Oblivion but once i found out I just needed to upgrade my graphics card I did not need a new console. Like before I need one game to change my mind, one which can show how good the PS3 is, and maybe I will get one, but no promises.

I had a girlfriend called Jaime and at the same time I knew a guy called Jaime and often got their numbers mixed up.

Hilarity ensued at my expense.

Ronnie Rowlands January 31, 2008 3:20 AM

"Jaime!!!?" About the male, how did the parents know they were having a gay?

Chris Britton January 31, 2008 3:26 AM

Female Intuition.

Jamie Minty January 31, 2008 11:15 AM

Jamie is originally a boys name. It comes from James (which is what it says on my birth certificate).

Girls called Jamie are meant to spell it Jaime not Jamie!

Ronnie hope you didn't mean me!

Hmm... I have a male friend named Jaime and several female friends named Jamie. Perhaps you should write a letter to their parents.

Well according to name books (to name babies)

Jamie is for boys and Jaime for girls. But it changes in America (according to Famous peoples names)

tsk, americans always changing our language! :D

Ben Dawson January 31, 2008 4:00 PM

I've said it before, it isn't OUR language, it's a universal language.

So say the same for every country which uses our dialect then. English is a Universal language, not OUR language.

Jamie Minty January 31, 2008 5:14 PM

Ok boys calm down!

Its just something people say. Seeing as its called Engl-ish you start to think Engl-and.

Its amazing how much topics change on here. I like it that way! :P

Often you find when it's spelled Jaime they call themselves 'Jam-eye'. Which is weird.
