My idea for a revolutionary TV show.

Ok. This is another one of my slightly crazy, ambitious, fantastic and trail blazing ideas for a TV show. ;) Im sure you have all heard of, and watched Top Gear, the show which dabbles in fast cars, challenges which always go wrong, and snide comments about anybody and no-body, well im taking this to the next level.

So heres my idea, take the concept of Top Gear, blend it with DS.com, and we get DS.com Top Gear! Except we don't dabble in cars, we mess with computers and technology. ;) There will be a featured computer each week, there will be 3 or 4 presenters, we test out a piece of technology and evaluate it. there will be challenges involving computers and races, like building a computer quickest, convert a computer ti something else like a flower pot. there will be technology news, with a lot of insults thrown in. We have a guest to come in for a bit of a banter. we also get the cool wall, where we evaluate if a piece of technology is cool, uncool or freezing. Plus they all have to be evaluated on what the lovely Billie Piper might think :D.

Presenters would be no problem either. Danny would be perfect for the role of chief presenter, when I think of Jeremy Clarkson around a computer Danny comes to mind, hes perfect!

I think I would be perfect for the role of The Stig, i know my technology, I can use it, i just say little about it. So nuff said. I will be testing stuff but no-one knows who i really am

I think Superkid11 should also present, he fits the role of Richard Hammond without question, he is knowledgeable, smart, plus Danny can pick on him a lot XD

Dalek104 can also do it, he can fit the bill of James May, he knows his stuff but Danny and Jez can pick on him, oh and he can;t win anything either, thats the rule :P

YES!

I don't mind if I'm not in it. That way I can watch :D

Chris Britton November 29, 2007 12:27 PM

What about being part of the production team? ;) that way you can set whatever challenges you like and basically torture the guys :D

Actually, Ross, Rat, Ben, RV, Jez and everyone else who is not presenting will be on the production team, we need all the insane ideas we can get. Perhaps Dominic Glynn could provide us with a theme tune? ;)

Josef Kenny November 29, 2007 1:35 PM

YES!
YES YES YES!

Funnily enough, I was fondling with the idea of me and a mate doing a Guitar Top Gear.
Count me in, I watch Top Gear every day (double bill, from 3PM, every weekday on Dave).

Chris Britton November 29, 2007 3:22 PM

Dave is a cracking TV channel.

Glad you are on board. In fact this project is something that could be easily done over the Internet, as long as we have a camera and someone with skill at editing :P Hopefully we can assign the production team roles as well as letting them torture our presenters :P

AAAAARGH!!! No camera :(.

I don't want a Mac now. :(

D/W, not really. Lets see how upset this makes Danny

Chris Britton November 30, 2007 1:41 PM

Lol! i think our show is already becoming convincing, and we have yet to make an episode ;) I know my idea was good. :P

Hell no! Not on my damn show. Ross, you've linked to that video before and I wish you would stop. It's completely untrue.

Chris Britton November 30, 2007 2:54 PM

Well the premise is good, which was what i agreed with, maybe not the opinion :P

Oh, i wondered when you would reply Danny, im guessing you are quite in favour of this show :P

It's a good idea, but I just don't have the time to contribute anything to it at the moment. I'm totally swamped with school and work these days.

Sounds like shit.

I was in a big crash a month or so back, so I offer up my services as some sort of safety device as I now have a basic knowledge as to how exactly crashes can shit up your body.

Computer crashes work in roughly the same way, I'd assume

They managed to post a paragraph and a bit of punctuated and grammatically correct text, so I'd say they're more okay than most of the internet.

I'm not entirely sure what happened exactly, but I know a big fecking rock was involved and we tipped up on our side. The windscreen fell out and shattered, and part of the roof came off. I ended up being carted off strapped to a board with my neck in a collar because they thought I had a spinal injury. I spent the rest of the day in hospital having my dignity removed - they even managed to lose my trousers at one point.
No broken bones luckily, but I did some real damage to a lot of my muscles and obviously we were all shaken up pretty badly. I also banged my head pretty badly and claimed that I had been walking my dog. All OK now though, thanks!

The worst thing about it was the fact that a) I narrowly missed out on getting a ride in the Air Ambulance and b) We were in a minibus doing 28mph. Not how I pictured my first big crash. How we did so much damage is beyond me. When I tell the story to small children I'll put myself in a Veyron doing 200mph
