vixy.net???

Is there any video file converting sites similar to vixy.net? Vixy's very unreliable and isn't gonna be doing online conversions for much longer.

Go look for SUPER.

It wins.

Ben Dawson February 19, 2008 5:08 PM

Thanks, but I was thinking along the lines of an online converter.

Why do you need an online converter?

Because it's not platform-dependent? Because it doesn't require installing software? Because it's easier? Faster? More efficient?

Some shitty online converter faster and more efficient than SUPER? No way.

1) I never stated that "shitty" was a requirement.

2) I was referring to the speed and efficiency of merely calling up a web site to perform the necessary conversion rather than having to download, install, and subsequently rely on a piece of software.

3) http://img.skitch.com/20080220-x61nu...b1348jp5ek.png = ultrafail.

1. You think an online converter is actually going to be any good?

2. Double click the icon and the program opens. Choose the file, the output format, press convert, and lo and behold, it's converted. And you don't even have to wait an hour for your video/music or whatever to upload just to convert the stupid thing.

3. I'm pretty sure Ben uses Windows, therefore I'm not quite sure what you're complaining about.

They've always worked perfectly well for me.

Most of these sites process the video directly from YouTube or whatever site it's hosted on, so there's no upload.

I don't care what Ben uses -- this is my complaint. I hold no respect for Windows-exclusive software.

Ben Dawson February 20, 2008 3:58 PM

That's all very well...but is there another online converter?

Jamie Minty February 20, 2008 4:30 PM

For Mac I use iSquint

For Windows I use Videora

Recommend both!

Anyone know anything better for Mac (thats free)

Superkid11 February 20, 2008 7:37 PM

Why do you need an online converter? Are you unable to download things at the moment or is it just something you prefer?

And sorry, I got nothin. ._.

Danny Stewart February 20, 2008 9:28 PM

iSquint is excellent for Mac.

Ben Dawson February 21, 2008 10:44 AM

I'd just preffer an online converter...but, again, is there any online converters that don't require a download or something?

I'd recommend http://www.zamzar.com - Fast, free, convert from URL or upload a file from your computer to be converted (100mb limit).

Never had it error on me or not work, usually converts things very fast as well. Enjoy!

Very helpful, thank you! It's always good to know a site like that in a pinch.

Allow me to offer you a proper welcome to the forums as well. :)

Kody March 2, 2008 8:08 PM

Chris Britton March 2, 2008 8:21 PM

...how did they register?

I thought we isolated ourselves into a secluded bunker until Danny could fix our vermin problem.

He registered a couple days before the lockdown but hasn't posted until now.
