Favorite Star Trek Movie

Hey Everyone, what's your favorite Star Trek movie?

Danny Stewart May 14, 2004 7:23 PM

Glad you made it a public poll. For favorites, it can't hurt to know what other people think, especially when they don't say it in their posts. My favorite movie is Nemesis. It really struck a chord with me when I first saw it.

David Carter May 14, 2004 7:25 PM

My favorite line out of all the movies is when Kirk says, "KHAN!!!!" So I had to pick Wrath of Khan.

Danny Stewart May 14, 2004 7:26 PM

I don't blame you. It's the only movie I have the Director's Edition of. :)

David Carter May 14, 2004 7:30 PM

Like my quote in my signature?

Danny Stewart May 14, 2004 7:31 PM

Heh, yes, I do. :)

David Carter May 14, 2004 7:32 PM

How did you get your Ares signature like that?

Danny Stewart May 14, 2004 7:51 PM

I made a small video clip to show you how to do it.

David Carter May 14, 2004 7:54 PM

My computer is retarded, It says it doesnt have the right decompressor or something.

Danny Stewart May 14, 2004 7:55 PM

Try playing it in another player. What players do you have? Windows Media Player, RealOne Player, QuickTime?

David Carter May 14, 2004 7:56 PM

All of those. Just tell me what to do.

Danny Stewart May 14, 2004 8:00 PM

  1. Save the file onto your computer.
  2. Open Windows Media Player.
  3. Click File > Open.
  4. Find the file on your computer and open it.
  5. If it fails, open RealOne Player.
  6. Click File > Open.
  7. Find the file on your computer and open it.
  8. If it fails, open QuickTime.
  9. Click File > Open.
  10. Find the file on your computer and open it.
  11. If it still doesn't work, then your computer really is retarded. http://www.usstetryon.com/forums/ima...ies/tongue.gif
EDIT: Scratch the DivX Player if you already read this, it definitely will not work with DivX Player.

David Carter May 14, 2004 8:03 PM

Then my computer is officially retarded, It didnt work. Tell me in a pm or post.

David Carter May 15, 2004 7:02 AM

I have the whole set of TOS movies on VHS. The boxes have parts of a picture on them and if you have the whole set, you can see what it is. (It's no Director's Edition but it's something)

Datol Col May 15, 2004 7:32 AM

I also like The Wrath of Khan. Nemesis is my second favorite.

David Carter May 15, 2004 7:36 AM

My second is The Voyage Home. Maybe I just like saying "Nuclear Wessels."

Danny Stewart May 15, 2004 7:50 AM

Yes, I don't have the box set, but I have I, II, IV, and VI on storebought VHS so I was aware of the picture. I just never got it completed. I have III, V, and VII on home video, and I have II, VIII and X on DVD. The only movie I don't have is Insurrection.

David Carter May 15, 2004 8:02 AM

I'm probably going to buy all of them on DVD soon.

Brad Black June 6, 2004 2:17 PM

Nemesis in my opinion was the best one they made.

Danny Stewart June 6, 2004 2:29 PM

I'm forced to agree with you there, Brad. BTW, isn't it interesting that no one has voted for anything other than TWOK and Nemesis?

Current tally: TWOK 4, Nemesis 2.

David Carter June 6, 2004 2:33 PM

The only part of Nemisis that I didnt like was that Data died. Then they had B-4 (Stupid Idea in my opinion) replace him, so he wasnt really dead. (If he wasnt really dead in the end, why kill him off in the first place?) Other than that, it was great. I still think Wrath of Khan and Voyage home are the best though.

Danny Stewart June 6, 2004 2:37 PM

The only part of Nemesis that I didn't like (other than Data dying) is when people spell it with an "I" - Nemisis. :P

But yeah, I understand that it was partially Brent Spiner's idea to get rid of Data, maybe because he wanted to get out of Star Trek. But uh, news flash Brent, B-4 last time I checked is played by you too.

David Carter June 6, 2004 2:45 PM

Oh, right... Nemesis*. I also didnt like that they had Brent singing like a retard at the end when he was B-4.

"Never... Never saw the sun... Never saw the sun."
"Shining so bright"
Nodding his head,"Shining so bright... Never saw things..."

Danny Stewart June 6, 2004 2:48 PM

They hadn't met their cheesiness quota for the rest of the movie, so that last minute change was made.

David Carter June 6, 2004 3:10 PM

yeah, I did like when he was singing in the begining though. He's no Sinatra but it was funny.

Danny Stewart June 6, 2004 3:12 PM

See? That was good singing, not cheesy singing, so it didn't tally into the cheesiness quota.

David Carter June 6, 2004 3:24 PM

LOL

Bob Davis June 6, 2004 4:46 PM

Stop double posting and tell me what the heck ur talking about.

FC kicks ass, it starts out with a kickass battle in the first ten minutes, goes straight into lots of neat stuff and ends up with a whole lot of latex lying on the floor. Our school went on a trip to Florida, our math teacher let us put FC on and plenty of people thought it wasnt half bad.

David Carter June 6, 2004 7:02 PM

I was trying to see if it would let me post just spaces, but it only works when you have at least one letter in it. You know how if you try and post less than ten characters, it doesnt let you? That's what im talking about.

Datol Col June 6, 2004 7:21 PM

Yeah, I know how that is.

Danny Stewart June 7, 2004 6:38 AM

I didn't know about the 10-character minimum because I never post less than 10 characters. :P

What does that tell me about you all?

Bob Davis June 7, 2004 6:47 AM

um...we're lamely attempting to cheat up our post count?

Danny Stewart June 7, 2004 6:50 AM

Bingo.

EDIT: Hey, wait, "Bingo." was less than 10 characters and it let me post it!

EDIT #2: Okay, I checked. There is no 10-character minimum. You're all crazy.

Bob Davis June 7, 2004 10:16 AM

Yeah, we're crazy.

Or maybe it just lets you do it because you're the admin...

David Carter June 7, 2004 2:08 PM

No, I posted "LOL" in one post. I guess the ten character limit was on the other board. This one just doesnt let you post all spaces.

Datol Col June 7, 2004 3:46 PM

When I only posted sbout seven characters, It was on the previous board. I was not trying to cheat for my post count to tell you the truth.

Colinn Schryker June 8, 2004 8:18 AM

We canmake a movie about how stupid this board is another time. LET'S GET BACK TO THE TOPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy fools. The wrath of Kahn plotline take three movie to end! It would have you waiting way too long!

Note: we are talking about the only two movies that have major characters die. *holds moment of silence for Data.*

Wrath of Khan also has errors in the plotline. Incase anyone is really stupid, Chekov isn't supposed to know Khan. Nemisis also has jeepfights SWEEET!!

Max Yittreas June 8, 2004 8:54 AM

I also vote First Contact. The Nemesis plot is a little transparent when you really think about it. Psycho guy who wants to blow up Earth? And how can you vote for a movie where they kill Data?! :P

Danny Stewart June 8, 2004 11:46 AM

Colinn, this board is not stupid. Don't say that.

David Carter June 8, 2004 12:01 PM

Chekov is just cool like that. He could have read logs about the incedent. He is the best damn officer to ever grace the bridge of a Starfleet wessel.

Wrath of Khan has the greatest individual villian in Star Trek. Here are some quotes that prove that I have lots of spare time (school is almost over for good!!! Well... At least until after summer.)

"Do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It is very cold in space." - Khan
"From Hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee." - Khan
"I've done far worse than kill you. I've hurt you. And, I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you as you left me--as you left her--marooned, for all eternity, in the center of a dead planet: buried alive." - Khan
"You are in a position to demand nothing, sir. I, on the other hand, am in a position to grant, nothing." - Khan
"I've given you no word to keep Admiral. In my judgment, you simply have no alternative." - Khan
"Time is a luxury, you don't have, Admiral." - Khan
