Doctor Who: Rescored

My Doctor Who rescoring project involves taking sections of Doctor Who episodes and replacing their incidental music using either a brand new arrangement by me using existing tracks, replacing the original music with music made by someone else or replacing the music with a different version (eg from the Children In Need concert). Below are my completed rescores.

Completed Rescores

Doomsday replaced by Danny Stewart's Sealing the Void

Here's a new Rescore. This features all the original music from the Rise of the Cybermen cliffhanger stripped out. I have replaced it with a new arrangement taken from the Children In Need concert.

I am also updating the Sealing the Void video with Danny's new mix of the music, per his request ;).

Excellent work on these too!

Fantastic work! Utterly fantastic and extremely impressive.

I suggest the Benny Hill theme for any and all melodramatic scenes of sadness or violence.

Danny Stewart November 23, 2006 8:23 PM

You lead a sad existence, RV. :P

watching that, I realized that David Tennants accent after the regeneration is nothing to what it's like in the 2nd series, I liked it after the regeneration.

But anyway, MI7, excellent work, you've synched it exactly...well done.

Great work, MI7! It must be fun to play around with those sounds! :)

I think I'm going to begin to attempt to write up alternate scores for you to use in place of Murray's, to see how good of a job I can do. (I've already run this past MI7 and now I'm just letting everyone else know.)

Dalek104 November 24, 2006 9:56 PM

OK, good luck! ;)

You should add elevator music to all TARDIS scenes, cheery music in the place of dramatic music, game boy music to any scene where people die and "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics played slowly for the Cybermen theme, especially the start.

If anything, do it for the sake of comedy.

...please?

LOL! I can imagine that...:P

Danny Stewart November 25, 2006 12:10 AM

Talk to MI7. I'll likely only be composing serious new music. :P

Recurring Villain November 25, 2006 12:31 AM

Pah.

Add more of the Cybermen theme then.

I'm sorry, I meant serious original new music. None of Murray's stuff. :P

I must try that one sometime lol! The Song For Ten from the CIN concert reminded me a lot of elevator music. If not Mr McCulloch's "Latin Theme" will do I think.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

The Keffster's most vile work to date!

Ben Dawson November 25, 2006 11:13 AM

long string alert!!!

Danny Stewart November 25, 2006 11:15 AM

It didn't get broken up, meaning it was less than fifty characters. No more than fifty characters.

Danny Stewart November 25, 2006 3:51 PM

Use common sense. Stay within reason.

MI7 December 6, 2006 2:22 PM

Here's a new one, replaced the Ninth Doctors regeneration scene music with "Harriet Jones, Prime Minister".

Regeneration Rescore 2

Dalek104 December 9, 2006 7:15 PM

The music fits in very well with the clip.
Great stuff! :D

Danny Stewart December 9, 2006 8:00 PM

Indeed, very well done. Sorry for not responding earlier -- you showed me via PM so I told you that there. ;)
