After checking the count on the main page, I've just discovered that the DannyStewart.com Forums are nearing 20,000 posts! We're currently at 19,857, and this will be the 19,858th. We should throw a little celebration once we hit 20,000. :)

EDIT: However, I would like to ask that there be no competition as to who actually gets the 20,000th post. I'm being serious on this. I would greatly appreciate it if everyone just continues to post normally... we don't even need to know who did it when it happens. Thank you.

it's not often I do that, I just double-click on the post reply button when it doesn't load, but it posts it twice...(when I waited for the 30 second count down to finish, now I realise that when that comes up then it's already posted).

You have a beautiful singing voice have you got an album coming out.

The thirty second delay only comes up if you've just posted, so that means your post went through.

And you usually write somthing completley different in the next post, so you can't say you pressed the send button twice. Stop making excuses.

The reason it's a good quote is because when it's out of context it sort of implies Danny is a raging anger machine.

Actually, the post count is over 28400 (this particular post is the 28409th). It's just that the actual post count doesn't include the deleted posts. The database ignores the deleted posts so that you don't get two posts of the same number. It's complicated to explain, easy to understand. ;)

If you understood this, get yourself a cookie:
Basically, if the actual post count (ie, the number of posts in the database) is 15 and post number 14 is deleted, the next post will still be post number 16 according to the database. If that didn't happen, you'd end up with two 15th posts because the database won't think to move the original 15th post down so that it's 14th. Why? Because it would slow the forums down completely. The number of posts will still be 15 but the database will read the count as being 16. :)
