A big hi from Martin Johnson

Hi everyone,

This is a fantastic website Danny has here. Hope you're all very well and are enjoying series 3 of Doctor Who...assuming you live in the UK, hehe.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to being a part of the site.

Martin Johnson

Hi Martin! It's great to have you here on the site. I hope you enjoy yourself here. :)

(And it's not just you UK dwellers that are enjoying series 3 of Doctor Who.) :P

Dalek104 April 12, 2007 12:19 PM

Welcome to the forums, Martin! Have a really great time! :D

Ronnie Rowlands April 12, 2007 12:27 PM

Heyy, it's EverybodyelsE from the Whomix :P

EverybodyelsE April 12, 2007 12:58 PM

My grasp on the Who universe expands beyond the reaches of Whomix :P

In fact I've thrown myself in at the deep end this year composing music for 3 Doctor Who productions and producing my own audio drama, hehe. Am I doing too much too fast? hmmmmm.

Quite right. You're quite skilled in more than just the Doctor Who theme, and it's a pleasure to have you here. :)

Ben Dawson April 12, 2007 2:08 PM

welcome to the forums, it's nice to have a whomixer here...do you like Superman?

Pete hasn't posted on Whomix in a year and a half. :P

And don't forget me! Just because I've never posted there doesn't mean I'm not a Whomixer. :P

Ronnie Rowlands April 12, 2007 2:34 PM

That goes for me as well, I used to be a regular, didn't I Danny ::)

I am a bit of a Superman fan. My avatar is from a photo shoot back when I was at good old college.

Oh really? I don't remember hearing any Doctor Who theme remixes from you...

Ronnie Rowlands April 12, 2007 3:14 PM

No, but I was always posting, or does that not count?

No, we're only talking about people who remix the theme. Anyone can comment, but not anyone can create. :P

I created, but not a remix. ;)

Ronnie Rowlands April 12, 2007 3:17 PM

mind you, I did once add an echo to the Howell, Glynn and Gold themes, to see what they soundedlike, ala the Derbyshire version :P

That's hardly remixing, and you didn't even get it exactly right. :P

And also, the Derbyshire theme does not have delay on it. The revised 1967 and 1970 Derbyshire themes do. :P

It's all me mate, lol. It was originally for a short film but it never happened.

Anyone else thinking this thread is out of control?

Fascinating. So you're Superman in your spare time, are you? :D

Perhaps. Sadly most threads will get like that given time. :P

EverybodyelsE April 12, 2007 4:26 PM

Superman in my spare time? I...urm...don't know what you mean! :P

By the way, anyone who sometimes mixes using headphones should seriously consider buying the Grado SR125 cans. I have bought a pair to mix the Dalek Masterplan score on and their the most incredible headphones I've ever heard!!! They retail in the UK for about £160 but trust me...well worth it. They sound like a £1000 pair of speakers!

Ben Dawson April 12, 2007 4:34 PM

wow, you look like Dean Cain. I liked Dean Cain as Superman, grew up watching Lois and Clark.

Of course you don't. I'll pretend you never said anything, and you can get back to saving the world. :P

I just bought a $30 set of headphones recently (that's about £16). They're Koss UR-40s if you are interested. They're quite nice but I'm sure they can't compare to those Grado SR-125s. I'm saving up to expand my studio, so perhaps then I'll consider grabbing a pair. Thanks for the advice!

By the way, I think you may have paid too much for yours. Amazon.com shows them for just $150 (which is only about £80 or so).

EverybodyelsE April 13, 2007 4:33 AM

I'll tell you a secret...As I work in the world of hi-fi and home cinema I bought them for £70 trade price :)

Jez April 13, 2007 4:36 AM

Unfortunately, we in the UK pay double what you yanks do.

My new headset (Sennheiser 150 PC) was £20 in the US, £40 in the UK. I would have got them from New Egg really cheaply if they exported to the UK. :(

Welcome to the forums, E!

Ah, cool! If I can find them for similar to that price I may grab a pair.

That's what you get for calling us "Yanks." I hate that term.
