Dr Who game

I think it would be great if they created like a Pc game of Dr Who .
What would everyone think ?

Sam Davies May 2, 2007 4:28 AM

Yeah gears. but Rob it souns like an interesting Idea.

Ben Dawson May 2, 2007 8:03 AM

Ok, I'll do it, there already has been a Doctor Who PC game (abeit, a crappy 90's graphics one, but one all the same), two in fact, "Dalek Attack" and "Destiny of the Doctors".

Nickalayo May 4, 2007 2:03 PM

Good idea

Sounds quite interesting. Only problem would be how you would kill aliens and stuff cuz theres never any running up to a dalek smashing it to bits with a crow bar then tagging it and running.
Would be fun tho...:D

Danny Stewart May 4, 2007 2:20 PM

Perhaps the best idea for a Doctor Who game would be that it wouldn't be played from the Doctor's perspective, for that reason.

MI7 May 4, 2007 3:36 PM

For some reason I always thought a Doctor Who-based strategy game would be fun. Playing as Daleks, Cybermen, Time Lords etc.

Ben Dawson May 5, 2007 10:26 AM

I would think that the perfect Doctor Who game would be a cross between Star Wars KOTOR and Oblivion.

Who? May 6, 2007 3:41 PM

Serveal times i have emailed the BBC to do some kind of Doctor Who game.

They never replied.

Danny Stewart May 6, 2007 3:45 PM

Of course not. They don't pay attention to casual fans. :(

Ben Dawson May 6, 2007 4:38 PM

I sent an email to them once (3 times in fact) and I got a reply 2/3 times.

Who? May 6, 2007 4:43 PM

My replys were automated, nothing else :(

Ben Dawson May 6, 2007 4:52 PM

Mine weren't, it took a while for theme to reply, but they were very specific about what I had said.

Danny Stewart May 6, 2007 4:55 PM

What did you email them about?

Dalek104 May 6, 2007 5:02 PM

I once emailed them about the font used in the new series (Deviant Strain). They replied within a few days.

Then I emailed them about when they'll be releasing a soundtrack. No reply.

Danny Stewart May 6, 2007 5:03 PM

What did they say about the font?

Dalek104 May 6, 2007 5:11 PM

I just asked, "What is the name of the font used in the new series" (or something like that), and they replied, "Deviant Strain". :P

Ben Dawson May 6, 2007 5:19 PM

I asked where I could find pictures from the classic series :P, and what DVD releases where coming out soon.
The email address is in mye email address book, it automatically went under "The Doctor".

Sam Davies May 8, 2007 7:42 AM

Maybe a sort of clue solving game where you see something mysterious and you investigate it. A sort of CSI: Dark Motives/Fahrenheit game maybe.

robertbeare May 9, 2007 2:53 PM

I was just thinking one day , and thought you play as the daleks, the cybermen, the time lords and possibly even an assitant of the doctor.
Would be great i think , the only problem would be how the doctor could destroy daleks , possibly he has a gun or maybe just a super powered sonic screwdriver and he picks up other sonic objects or upgrades for the screwdriver "the sonic hammer" lol . :tardis:

Ben Dawson May 10, 2007 5:22 AM

But...the Doctor doesn't use guns.

Sam Davies May 10, 2007 7:46 AM

He does in the first time Chris E met the Daleks he had that gun didn't he.

Ben Dawson May 10, 2007 7:51 AM

It wasn't his first time, it was his first time on screen, but not in general...he was scared then, the Dalek took him by surprise and he wasn't prepared, so he was scared...fear makes us all do extreme things that are normally out of our character.

Peter Davison with a gun in Resurrection of the Daleks?

Ronnie Rowlands May 10, 2007 10:41 AM

Peter Davison shooting the living snot out of a Cyberman in Earthshock?

Ben Dawson May 10, 2007 1:05 PM

Alright, true, he has resorted sometimes, but as general rule, he's opposed to guns.

robertbeare May 10, 2007 2:00 PM

yeah, i suppose , but i suppose the character could be a normal person who meets up with doctor and they use guns .

Danny Stewart May 10, 2007 2:33 PM

But the Doctor wouldn't approve of them using guns.

Ronnie Rowlands May 10, 2007 2:37 PM

I'll have to dispute that point Danny. He did allow Capt Jack to shoot the living snot out of a Dalek in "Parting of the Ways" :P

Danny Stewart May 10, 2007 2:49 PM

Daleks are a special case, as we have seen time and time again.

Ben Dawson May 10, 2007 4:22 PM

Daleks are his worst enemy, of course he would stuggle to show anything but hatred towards them.

Sam Davies May 11, 2007 5:18 AM

Then what about my CSI/Fahrenheit idea. You see something suspicious and you investigate it. If it comes to a confrontation you press the buttons at the right time and you win. This quick thinking with buttons represents the quick thinking of the doctor. e.g. Some people go missing, you investigate, find out some wierd alien race are behind it, after researching adn researching and more researching you finally confront them at it takes quick thinking. You don't necesseraly have to use guns you can well..... use your sonic screwdriver on a chandelleir and make it fall onto a Cyberman or something.

Danny Stewart May 11, 2007 1:19 PM

I think that's the kind of game that would work quite well.

robertbeare May 11, 2007 3:02 PM

Good one sam i really like the idea of dr who/CSI idea and the theme tune for CSI vegas would suit

"Who are you? , who who who who"

Danny Stewart May 11, 2007 3:16 PM

No thanks. Doctor Who theme all the way. :P

robertbeare May 11, 2007 3:55 PM

i suppose , the doctor who theme is good enough !

Ronnie Rowlands May 11, 2007 4:19 PM

Seeing as it IS a Doctor Who game!

Dalek104 May 11, 2007 4:44 PM

Good enough? It'd be an offence to not use it. :P

Sam Davies May 12, 2007 6:02 PM

Maybe some jazzed up version of it?

Danny Stewart May 12, 2007 6:04 PM

No, no, no. A darker one is just fine. :P
