Doctor Who 3x10 - "Blink"

Plot Summary - Written by Steven Moffat
In an old, abandoned house, the Weeping Angels wait. Only the Doctor can stop them, but he is trapped in time. However, when people start disappearing, a young woman called Sally finds cryptic messages bleeding through from 1969 – messages from a mysterious stranger called the Doctor. But can she decipher them before the Angels claim their best prize yet?

I'm getting bored of these. Thank goodness next week's episode is a "proper" episode.

Bored of what? Blink easily topped the rather disappointing Family of Blood for me.

Chris Britton June 9, 2007 2:07 PM

Better then it;s equiviliant from last year I will say.

Oh yes, might i enquire as to why my poll got deleted, im sure it appeared first, im worried as it got deleted? :(

Ronnie Rowlands June 9, 2007 2:09 PM

I really enjoyed it. Danny, if you're still in touch with Murray Gold, tell him I think he did a wonderful job on the music there. That was real horror! Handled much better than last year's I thought. 7/10.

Jez June 9, 2007 2:16 PM

I watch Doctor Who because I enjoy watching the Doctor and all of his quirks. When the majority of time is spent in a situation where the Doctor isn't present, my enjoyment factor goes down.

Yes, the plot was good. And yes, it was a lot better than the last two episodes. However, for me, Doctor Who isn't Doctor Who without, suprise suprise, the Doctor playing a lengthy role in it.

The strange thing about this is that a lot of people I know who were around to watch the classic series when they were originally broadcast share a similar viewpoint. They feel that the makers are messing around with the concept too much.

Dalek104 June 9, 2007 2:17 PM

An excellent episode! Much better than 'Love and Monsters'. :) Unhappy about the credits, though. :(
Oh, and Chris, this thread was made first. :P

Chris Britton June 9, 2007 2:30 PM

Next week i will beat you ;)

Jez, i can agree with you mate, i had the same arguement last year with "Love and Monsters" But this time there was mroe Doctor around and it was not as comical and more serious, this was a deecent episode :)

Dalek's had a post in it, yours didn't. Sorry :P

RE the episode though: I feel praise is in order for Bill Cosby's inspired guest appearance.

Chris Britton June 9, 2007 2:40 PM

Mine had a post too :P

Jez June 9, 2007 3:05 PM

No, I meant post. You had posted in this one but Chris' had no response.

Jez June 9, 2007 3:12 PM

I posted in this one because Chris's had no poll (although he was probably doing that at the time). :P

Who? June 9, 2007 3:45 PM

Fantastic! Absolutley great, great, great!:D I loved it, The whole idea of getting the transcript from the future: getting it from Sally, was great. I voted 9/10 for Family of Blood as i knew there could be a better one, this is it. This is why i love Doctor Who 10/10 :D

Chris Britton June 9, 2007 5:18 PM

MIne had both a poll and a post, i assure you :) and next week if you give me a chance, i will do it :)

Danny Stewart June 9, 2007 9:12 PM

Back on topic, guys. No one cares who starts the poll.

That said, getting two 10/10s from me in a row is unheard of. And yet here I am. <3 Steven Moffat.

Chris Britton June 10, 2007 7:27 AM

Ym, Danny, in season 1 you gave everything 10/10 ;)

Ross Hendrie June 10, 2007 8:54 AM

This was an amazing episode, not quite on par with last week but it was truly a thing of beauty, especially Sally Sparrow (:P). I agree, it totally rocks compared to "Love and Monsters". It's the first episode in a while to really thrill me, those statue monster thingies were really scary actually. And the ending! That rocked. :D

EDIT: Oh, and 10/10 for me.

Chris Britton June 10, 2007 9:28 AM

Sally sparrow was a goddess, i would date her ;) and marry her :P

Who? June 10, 2007 10:03 AM

Shes Hot! This may sound strange but she reminds me of a cross between Keira Knightley and Danille Lloyd :P

Chris Britton June 10, 2007 1:12 PM

Danielle Llyod is Ygly!

Now Keira Knightly, shes something ;)

Danielle Llyod , ugly, what? I think not!!Please say you're joking:P

Chris Britton June 10, 2007 3:30 PM

well shes a racist cow. easily led astray and only famous for bonking a footballer.

Anyway back on track, what I want to know is what people thought of this compared to "Love and Monsters", the other Doctor lite episode

All true but doesn't mean shes ugly!:P

I thought this was much better than Love and Monsters

Chris Britton June 10, 2007 3:43 PM

More Doctor in this one, and of course it was more scary :)

Superkid11 June 10, 2007 9:54 PM

I really enjoyed this one, even though The Doctor wasn't the center of the plot. :P It was probably the scariest one to date!

Ross Hendrie June 11, 2007 11:04 AM

I thought it was quite scary.

And as ive already said, it pwnt Love and Monsters. Id take Carey Mulligan over Billie Piper anyday. :D

Danny Stewart June 11, 2007 1:26 PM

I'd take both of them.

At the same time.

Chris Britton June 11, 2007 1:30 PM

Lol, Danny, your imagination knows no bounds? :P

A monk. :P

Ben Dawson June 11, 2007 3:55 PM

This was a great episode, much better than some of the other episodes. but not quite on par with The Family of Blood...9/10 from me.

Chris Britton June 11, 2007 6:30 PM

Family of Blood was a corker, this one, although not as good, did not dissappoint :)

Amy June 20, 2007 2:22 PM

*Thumbs Up*

I loved that episode; eventhough it didn't contain much of The Docter or Martha, it was brilliant. Even I was scared!:o

Chris Britton June 20, 2007 4:28 PM

I thought it was a classy episode, scary and sad in parts :)

Hamster June 20, 2007 9:14 PM

I thought this one was absolutely fantastic, particularly the ending. That got my friend all outraged - she just banged her fists on the chair and shouted "Oh well done, freak out the whole bloody country!"

Heh, my mom liked the ending too. She said "oh, good for them, you know they only put that in to make kids scared of statues from now on." :D

Chris Britton June 21, 2007 11:42 AM

If I ever have kids, i better show them that episode and then take them to the museum :P
