Demonoid shut down.

Old news. Happened on Friday. I'm finding it quite difficult to cope, actually. Even combined, IsoHunt, Pirate Bay, and Mininova just don't cut it.

Superkid11 November 12, 2007 6:27 PM

I hope they can move to new servers eventually.

There's been some talk around the IRC servers from what I hear. Sadly it might be a while.

Why don't they just host in Sweden like TPB?

I don't know. Perhaps for the same reason I don't host in Sweden. (I'm not there.)

Yeah, that's probably right. If things keep going like they are in the US and the rest of the world, though, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the internet was hosted in Sweden within a few decades.

Have to agree there. Maybe I should start looking into server pricing there.

...even if for no other reason than to hide from Murray Gold and his spies.

I'm pretty sure Murray would be pretty pissed with that. :P

But it is hilarious. What would we do without RV and his nazi fetish?

Murray's already pissed at me. Nothing lost there.

I'll make you a better version sometime, then. :P

The DSF would be a much more tolerant and inviting place.

Jesper Kyd's got my vote. And so does Dominic Glynn.

If we added Frank Klepacki to that we might just have the best series of Doctor Who ever.

Let's put it to RTD.

Before we kill him and take over the series.

It would seem not. :P

(startlingly back on topic)
Well... seeing as Demonoid's gonna be down for a while...

Does Limewire suffice? It seems good for at least small things, like keygens only without the program.

Limewire is like a highway for viruses to go directly to your computer.

No. Stay far, far away from LimeWire.

Quoted for truth, if I quote so myself.

Ronnie Rowlands November 17, 2007 11:44 AM

strange, I've been using Limewire a couple of years now, for songs. No virus trouble with this computer.

That's because you can't get viruses from songs or video. It's still a bad idea to use it.

Too bad you have to join those sites to search them. :P At least with Demonoid I could actually look around and see if it was good before joining.

Jez November 17, 2007 5:59 PM

You can't even join them most of the time, you have to be invited. ;)

Waffles/What did open up for another 1000 regs earlier last week, but the site disappeared (it's new, but it's replacing another site so there might be some teething issues).

I'd like one if you don't mind. :P

They wouldn't happen to have the full version of Elpin's Arcade Action Pack(Space Rocks/Ice Cube hopper) would they? Even if they're not the best games in the world and I may not be able to run them with Crossover on my iMac, they give me a lot of nostalgia and my mom and dad enjoy them.

Jez November 17, 2007 7:19 PM

Wouldn't know, I'm still waiting for my mate to invite me (he said he would, but he never said when). :P

But there's been loads of hype.

As soon as you get an invite drop one by us ok? :P

Jez November 18, 2007 6:23 AM

Lol, if they hand out invites that quickly, sure. ;)

That's the trouble with these sites, you have to wait for ages before you can give out invites. :(
