My old laptop wasnt Vista and was fantastical great sound, great features but my current one has been nothing but trouble and bares the Vista logo. |
it's the operating system
|
She already considered getting a mac and, while she wants one, she admits it wouldn't do her any good due to her job these days.
It's not harmful to my health, my mac protects me. ;) To be fair, it actually hasn't had any problems yet... astonishing I know. Pretty neat little machine too, like a third the size of most PCs. Tis HP. |

Nah, (a hypothetical) Satan would not be stupid. He's use OS X or, if he's strapped for cash, Windows XP.

Satan of course being Bill Gates, or possibly Bill gates is far more evil then that.

Have you had any problems? |
Just bad sound to be honest. I was going to get a external sound card but theres to many wires sticking out of my laptop at the mo.
I live in fear of doing to this one what i did to my old one. Tip sticking a active power cable into the wrong socket is a very very stupid thing to do £400 quid down the toilet..... my only defence is it was dark and i was tired. |

I still have Windows XP, and it works fine with all the older programs I have. One of the major problems with Vista is its lack of backwards compatibility - many older programs designed for the XP system or earlier simply will not run on Vista, because Vista blocks them for one reason or another. More marketing by Microsoft, I think - but the new editions or go without. I'm not impressed by their tactics at all. Anyway, keep checking in with your mother, and if anything goes wrong, try taking the computer into a specialist dealer and have the thing reversed to XP. Hope that helps. |

And Macs are not "secretly built to Vista's specifications." They just make really good computers. Vista runs well on good computers. Apple doesn't give two figs what Microsoft thinks of their hardware specifications. |
Well he wanted me to say something positive, so I did. :P
Fear not, its influence has not gotten into me. I never once considered boot camping it. |
Oh well, when i break my current laptop(only a matter of time) at least i know what kind of laptop to get next time.

DirectX10 + Crysis = Therefore, with regards to the above expressions: Vista = Anything else is people's own opinions....some formed by others. |

Crysis being the most clear example of it. If you need more proof check the amount of slinging I gave that game. I should have added that it's ONLY for windows, those bastards.
