I Am Superman

Nah, Superman is a prick.

Today I'm going to tell you about this little gadget I got. It's a cool little gadget that turns carbon dioxide into epic win juice and is an effective fail remover. It's called,

The rVod Douche.

It fixes the internet by taking Carbon Dioxide, running it through RV's awesome filter, and exuding epic win juice that can be used to remove fail from threads.

Oh, and I bought an iPod Touch too and it really is quite an ownage little device except the screen's black levels are a little too washed out which is a bit annoying and I need a credit card to get an Apple Store account to buy the extra features which sucks because I have to wait 'till I can get a debit card or something. Why can't we get PayPal too? :(

Oh, and Apple's earbuds are shite. Uber shite. I'm going to buy some Sennheisers or something.

Truer words have never been spoken. I junked them within moments of getting one of the second generation nanos, picked up some nice Panasonic ones that slip over your ears, have great sound quality and are comfortable.. for like $15.

I choose to forgive them for the ear buds failing in every way though, due to how my iPod is now indispensable. Though.. WTB the newest Nano model or a touch.

Recurring Villain March 17, 2008 2:32 AM

I recommend the touch; however, I'd suggest waiting until after June to purchase it unless you can get it cheap somewhere, so you don't have to pay for the software updates and you already have an iPod that should be sufficient until then.

The midyear update cant come quick enough, I want to play games on this stupid thing! :D

I like Apple's earbuds. :(

Superkid11 March 17, 2008 7:33 AM

My mom's said pretty positive things about the earbuds.

Then again, I just don't like earbuds in general. I prefer headphones around my ears to stuff sticking in them. :P

Learn Objective-C and make some games yourself. Then you won't have to wait until June.

Ben Dawson March 17, 2008 10:33 AM

With me, I had a big problem with earbuds, they never stayed in my ears, and they irritated them and made them INCREDIBLY sore. And so I start with the ones that flap over my ear (Sony are good for them). Anyway, they broke, and I used my apple buds, and I was amazed at just how comfortable and easily they sat in my ears...they're definitely not like most buds, in my opinion.

Danny Stewart March 17, 2008 10:49 AM

See? You all are crazy. :P

Josef Kenny March 17, 2008 12:29 PM

Don't worry Danny! I love Apple's earbuds. And I love my Sony MDR-XD200 headphones so much I even recommended them to Danny, who has some now. How are you getting on with them?

Then I am crazy too. I got some for my iPod and they failed 2 weeks later, but the PSP ones are still running nicely :P

Thanks for the support. Loving the Sony's these days. My only gripe is that they tend to hurt the top of my head after a bit, but at least the sound quality is excellent.

We're only speaking as to sound quality, not construction quality. You probably just got a bad set.

Yeah, I've taken to putting wads of tissues on mine :P

Mine came with little cushion cover things...

We're not talking about the Apple earbuds now -- we're talking about Sony MDR-XD200 studio headphones that Rat Souffle swears by and he recommended to me, so I got a pair.

That it is.

Why doesn't Safari have a middle-click scroll? Seriously?

Is there any way to turn it on or is there just not one at all?

I don't believe there is one. Middle click scroll is FTL anyway. I only ever used it just to play around, and now Safari has broken me of that habit and I'm a happier man. :P

WTF? Scrolling with the wheel is ftl if you want to get around quickly

Not if you increase the sensitivity of the wheel. Then it's much more efficient and you have a lot more control over where you start and stop.

I used the scroll wheel to pinpoint after middle click scrolling to roughly where I needed to be, it was pretty much instantaneous to get from one place to another. It was very useful in Word documents especially. Increasing the scrolling sensitivity really doesn't cut it.

It seems a bit odd that Apple didn't include it, really.

Well, I disagree, but whatever. Either wean yourself off it or find a program that'll bring it back. I recommend the former, because I'm not sure the latter exists, and if it does, it's probably crappy.

Recurring Villain March 19, 2008 2:47 AM

I've gone back to Firefox and put all my extensions on.

Ah, functionality!

Danny Stewart March 19, 2008 5:41 AM

Enjoy. .....

Superkid11 March 19, 2008 8:56 AM

I'm too used to Camino to use Safari or anything else right now. :P

Safari seems more stable and definitely better at handling Java, but I like the way Camino looks.

I recommend Safari. It wins at browsing. I don't honestly know how you could prefer Camino's looks to an Apple-designed web browser. You'd think that they above all would know what a Mac OS X web browser should look like. Especially now that Safari 3.1 is out you should give it another try -- it's even faster now than it was before.

Sometimes looks don't matter. ;)

Safari is definitely very fast in OSX, and it does look very nice, but compared to other browsers it's functionality is unfortunately lacking.

Agreed to a certain extent. People coming from Firefox loaded out with dozens of extensions will certainly feel that Safari is lacking in functionality, but for me it is sufficient.

Also, I hate to nitpick, but now that you're a proper Mac user, you should get the terminology right. It is OS X, not OSX. :P

I'm not a proper Mac user; I haven't got a beret nor do I hang out at Starbucks. :P

James P. April 8, 2008 4:04 PM

And earbuds are what? :)

Danny Stewart April 8, 2008 5:16 PM

Small headphones that tuck inside your ears and are usually separate from one another.

James P. April 8, 2008 7:52 PM

Urgh! I hate those things! Thanks for clarifying!

Whats to hate about them? They are discreet, they fit in your pocket and unlike those huge headphones they don't rip your hair out.

James P. April 10, 2008 3:19 PM

That's just it! They always fall out of my ears!

Danny Stewart April 10, 2008 4:01 PM

Maybe it's your ears' fault.

Yeah, mine do the same thing. The solution is either ear-reduction surgery or putting syrup in them. I went for the latter and it works surprisingly well.

Josef Kenny April 10, 2008 4:06 PM

I had to put cooking oil in my ear once to get an insect out.

Danny Stewart April 10, 2008 4:10 PM

I prefer my ears sugar-free.
