Subdomain hax

http://burramudgeeinn.skcomics.net/

That's a subdomain of mine that's been hacked. Everything else seems alright though.

Any way to get it back or should I just delete it?

EDIT: They gave it back apparently. The hack was by some asshole on g00ns.

Danny Stewart March 22, 2008 11:39 PM

Weird. Any information on how exactly they hacked it? Where do you have your site hosted? And who are the domains run through?

Superkid11 March 22, 2008 11:55 PM

My site's hosted at Geocities, I assume the domains run through them. I have a Geocities Pro account.

The hacker said he "rooted" it.

Danny Stewart March 23, 2008 12:11 AM

Eep. Geocities. Move away. Now.

Recurring Villain March 23, 2008 12:20 AM

Geoshitties moar liek.

Danny Stewart March 23, 2008 2:04 AM

Athankyou.

Superkid11 March 23, 2008 5:34 PM

Tell me what's wrong with it first. :P

And I have the pro package, not the ad-packed free thing.

Danny Stewart March 23, 2008 5:51 PM

It's horrible. Does that count?

Get real hosting nub.

Superkid11 March 23, 2008 9:24 PM

Oh yes, that's marevellously helpful. You've swayed me. I'm abandoning Geocities Pro forever.

... seriously, what's wrong with it? :P Bad MySQL support but I pretty much have no idea how that works anyway.

Danny Stewart March 23, 2008 9:33 PM

Geocities is just a horrible hosting company. They have a reputation for sucking at just about everything.

We like to refer to it as 'failing at life'. And you know that when me and Danny agree on something, we're most probably right.

Josef Kenny March 24, 2008 3:36 AM

I used Geocities for about a day, and then I switched to one of those random weird free hosts that was much better. I got bored with it after that and now I can't actually even remember what my website URL is :P

Jez March 26, 2008 11:24 AM

I just met the right people who were friendly enough to offer me hosting. I never asked for it at all. They didn't even ask for a link on my site either (although I gave them one anyway).

But in another life, try getting an ISP that offers some webspace to start off with. :P

Josef Kenny March 26, 2008 11:34 AM

I'm not sure whether Tiscali gives me webspace or not. I wonder how I could find out.

I can even be more precise now too. :D

Jez = winner. Rat Soufflé = probably just really lazy. :P

Josef Kenny March 26, 2008 1:32 PM

ROFL. But I forgot my Tiscali website login details AGES ago. I still remember my internet password etc, so I can use the internet, but I don't remember the password for their website and to log into their horrendous email account. Just as well really.

Edit: Oh ****, I remembered what my login details are :P

Chris Britton March 26, 2008 7:57 PM

Someones using Geocites (Gets the hammer out) I'm sorry but it must be put down. I only used it for Ds10 and after all the work the page looked like a cut and paste job.

Superkid11 March 26, 2008 8:39 PM

I... actually haven't had any problems with them. At all, sans the SQL thing(the PHP Myadmin that was installed in there was messed up, and it didn't help that I have no experience in that area to begin with). Though I haven't really looked up any alternatives in a while.

Danny Stewart March 26, 2008 8:45 PM

You also didn't have problems with Windows, and look at you now. Think of the happiness you're missing out on with other hosting providers. :P

Superkid11 March 26, 2008 8:55 PM

Very true. :3 The only reason I haven't done a more serious search for new hosts is because I don't want to trouble my parents over it. I don't yet have the means to buy things myself and all that crap.

You should do something about that.

.....money?

Superkid11 March 27, 2008 7:25 AM

Oh I still have money in my jar, I just don't have a bank account or a credit card and crap like that. ;)

Yes, I should probably do something about that...

Chris Britton March 27, 2008 7:45 AM

Getting a bank account for starters ;)

Superkid11 March 27, 2008 7:54 AM

Well at least for now I'm keeping my money in a nice big metal jar and not my socks or anything.

Danny Stewart March 27, 2008 2:09 PM

I don't keep tangible money on me. It's all in my account.

Lol, I'm the other way around - I have no idea what my net password is! :o

Chris Britton March 27, 2008 9:01 PM

At lease with a Bank account you get interest and are making money, lol
