Yeah, quite good indeed. But being plugged into the comp[uter would be good, the forums would take on a new leash of life, we could take, from what seems like face to face, in a visual representation of the forums.

Danny Stewart November 7, 2005 7:09 AM

I wonder what a visual representation of these forums would look like. That's interesting... any theories?

Ross Hendrie November 7, 2005 1:10 PM

Yeah, at the front there'd be a corridor full of doors for all the forums, then through those doors would be the forums and then through there they'd be more doors leading to the threads, where people would chit-chat.

Danny Stewart November 7, 2005 3:00 PM

People would have to run between each room rapidly, or else they'd miss what was going on! Or perhaps there could be multiple copies of someone in each room linked together telepathically so they could maintain knowledge of what was going on in the rooms around them...

Ross Hendrie November 7, 2005 3:20 PM

Yeah, or else everyone would right down what they want to say so they can move between rooms.

Danny Stewart November 7, 2005 5:43 PM

Maybe we could write stuff down on paper and put it into a drop box or something.

Ross Hendrie November 8, 2005 12:13 PM

Yeah lol. This is quite a fun vision.

Danny Stewart November 8, 2005 1:19 PM

LOL. Glad you're enjoying it, haha. :)

Chris Britton November 9, 2005 4:57 PM

Maybe it was like a hallway or a small house or building where he have rooms, one for chatting, relaxing, playing games etc :)

Danny Stewart November 9, 2005 7:55 PM

It depends on how realistic we want it. If we want actual written posts, then it would be different than if, say, we just walked around chatting.

Ross Hendrie November 10, 2005 11:10 AM

Yeah.

Anyway... how did this result from a Medal of Honor topic? :P

Danny Stewart November 10, 2005 12:25 PM

Fine, I'll split it. :P

Chris Britton November 11, 2005 7:59 AM

good idea. :)

Danny Stewart November 11, 2005 10:07 AM

Any other ideas?

Chris Britton November 11, 2005 6:38 PM

Well, i am guessing the forums would be like a clubhouse, or building, with a cafe, and a place to sit down and chat, like a common room, with a sports hall, a games room, and a TV room with loads of Sci Fi stuff, and a museum, where all our Sci Fi merchendise is kept safe so we can all share in it's glory, and there is places like a reading corner, etc.

Danny Stewart November 11, 2005 7:06 PM

That filled my mind with a lovely image, and I can see the forums looking exactly like that. Very good, Chris! :)

Chris Britton November 11, 2005 7:23 PM

Thanks Danny, i just thought of it :)

Danny Stewart November 11, 2005 10:28 PM

You think of a lot of good ideas, though, so that's no surprise.

Chris Britton November 12, 2005 5:26 PM

Thanks again,. that really cheers me up.

Danny Stewart November 13, 2005 9:53 AM

No problem! :)

Chris Britton November 16, 2005 3:46 AM

:D Ok, any other idea we could use? :)

Danny Stewart November 16, 2005 6:41 AM

I'm not sure. I quite like yours, but it's by no means the only interpretation.

Chris Britton November 17, 2005 3:52 AM

Yes, it could be anything we want.

DS Forums, where pages makes you.

Danny Stewart November 17, 2005 6:03 AM

LOL, scary thought, hehe.

Chris Britton November 18, 2005 6:46 AM

LOL, it can be whatever you want it to be.

Danny Stewart November 18, 2005 7:18 AM

Hopefully that's the point. ;)

Chris Britton June 4, 2006 3:15 PM

So a beautiful woman.......

Bajoran Rogue June 4, 2006 3:47 PM

Given the age of this topic, I'd hope you're into necrophilia :P

[EDIT] Just said that, because due to this topic about a visual representation being dead, the visual representation would be dead. It made sense in my head, but writing it out, I can see that its not very funny.

Danny Stewart June 4, 2006 4:06 PM

I'm considering installing some kind of mod that auto-locks topics after 60 days or something because we can't keep having people post in these old topics. If you genuinely have something to add, start a new thread.

Josef Kenny July 2, 2006 2:55 PM

I think the forum looks like a giant duck with 40 wings and 182 legs. It sits on a fridge-freezer attached to a long spoon which is hanging on a fire.

Chris Britton July 3, 2006 2:53 PM

OK, not being cruel, that was a silly way to resurrect this topic, it should have been lock.

Danny Stewart July 3, 2006 8:59 PM

Hehe... well, I found it funny. :P

Chris Britton July 6, 2006 2:28 AM

You moaned when i resurrected it.

Ross Hendrie July 6, 2006 11:21 AM

Yeah but Rat Souffle is new.

Chris Britton July 6, 2006 11:52 AM

And? He may not understand the rules, but thats nto what i am getting at.

Ross Hendrie July 6, 2006 3:58 PM

Snapping at new members isn't the best way of keeping them around.

Chris Britton July 7, 2006 7:51 AM

Im not snapping, im just annoyed that he could go ahead and resurrect this topic with sometihig funny, yet when i did it, i was moaned at.

Ross Hendrie July 7, 2006 10:09 AM

Im not saying you were snapping, im saying that if Danny were to snap at the new member like he did to you, then it would drive them away.

Chris Britton July 7, 2006 11:45 AM

I guess so, i just hate being treated differently in a negatve way. Reminds me too much of school

Danny Stewart July 7, 2006 12:50 PM

Ross is exactly correct. I'm familiar with Rat Souffle because of his postings on Whomix, and he's the new guy and we don't want to scare him away. He seems cool, so let him settle in before snapping at people. Then let the snapping begin. ;)
