I never liked the portal and I didn't know anyone was using it. What about it did you like, Ross?

Oh, and as for the wiki, I can try and retrieve it from the old server.

Mainly the blog part of it.

How about this -- I'm happy to set up new individual blogs for any users that are interested. You'll have a dedicated web site just for you that you can set up any way you want it. I'd personally rather do that -- allows users more flexibility, for one thing.

Ross, I'm afraid trying to put the wiki back up has only resulted in corruption and database errors. I can keep trying, but it's not going to be as simple as I'd hoped it would be (export the old database, install a new copy on the new server, then import the old database). I'll see what can be done.

Hmm. Is there any realistic way it can be saved?

I'm still mulling it over but it's not looking good. I have one or two other things to try before I give up though.

If not i can't complain, since you have done a lot for us anyway on here of late.

A wiki sounds like a good idea. I'm not fussed though if you can't retrieve it or make a new one, Danny. And it would be interesting to read some people's blogs here. :)

Yes, Ross, it would be quite easy to set up a brand new version. I'll let you know if I can't do it any other way.
