Hi,

I'm in the making of a vectorised image of the Doctor and Martha. Here's what I've done so far. It took me about 20 minutes to make.

Comments welcome! :)

Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuungry!

Jez November 18, 2006 7:17 AM

Nice start. Let's hope the end product looks as good as this is promising.

nice work, all they need now is some more detail

Thank Ben! :)
Here's an update on my Doctor/Martha image. All I've done is add some detail to the Doctor's face. I'm not too pleased with this; I might redo it.
The face is very tricky to do because of all the detail.

I appreciate the work one into it, I know how hard it is to get a good looking face.

Very good so far! The Doctor's face looks a bit scrunchy though. I can certainly appreciate how difficult it is but your previous versions looked great. I think you can do better on that aspect.

I LOVE THE DOCTORS FACE.

He just looks so grumpy/drunk/confused it's hilarious. Such an amazing expression. Excellent!

Thank you RV. I'm glad you like it. :)

Sam Davies November 20, 2006 6:09 AM

Really good you'll have to show me ho to make them one day.

Dalek104 November 20, 2006 6:23 AM

Thanks, Sam! :)

I make these using Adobe Photoshop. It's great fun to use!

Sam Davies November 20, 2006 8:03 AM

Thanks i'll start to make some at home are they easy or quite hard?

Dalek104 November 20, 2006 8:27 AM

It depends. If there is a lot of detail to work on then it can be difficult. Usually it's fairly easy though. If you would like to PM me I will happily tell you what tools to use and how to do it in Photoshop. ;)

And if Dalek can't help you (judging by his vector work, it's unlikely that he can't), visit a certain link in my sig. It was built up as a tutorial community (although we're in the process of a radical branching out period). Pretty much everybody there knows Photoshop like the back of their hand. If you're really keen to learn about graphics, we also know enough about Cinema 4D to keep you occupied for several months. :)

This work is very good Dalek. The face is an excellent effort and would only require a slight bit of modification for it to look "right". I suggest you fix his lips a bit. The Tardis was probably the easiest thing to do given it's shape. Great stuff, keep them coming.

(PS - I'd be interested in seeing a tutorial which we'd upload to Good Tutorials for you. Let me know if you're interested. :))

There is an Artistic filter in Photoshop called "slices", run the original through that and you should get pretty much the same result.

Danny Stewart November 20, 2006 10:44 PM

Back in my day, we used to call that cheating. :P

Recurring Villain November 21, 2006 3:30 AM

I like to refer to it as "not going to too much effort" :D

Of course, the downside would be not having as much control over it as Dalek104 would have.

Danny Stewart November 21, 2006 9:56 AM

Yeah, and also maybe it not being your work. :P
