Torchwood 1x06 - "Countrycide"

Plot Summary
Concerned that the space-time rift is spreading, Torchwood investigate a series of gruesome deaths in the Brecon Beacons village of Brynblaidd. What sort of creature could cause such shocking injuries? Stranded without communications or equipment and isolated from one another, the team confront a terrifying enemy.

this one was better than last weeks, so fantastic would fit well...it's hard to vote as if you vote for one with good, very good, great etc, then next episode could be better but you could still want to vote as the same level as the last episode. It's harder than it looks

I gave it a 7/10. I enjoyed it, but some of the language was a bit overly colorful for my tastes, like when Owen had Gwen up against the tree... Still, overall enjoyable episode, even if it was just a bunch of silly humans behind it all. But the scene where Jack came in and utterly destroyed and obliterated everything was quite awesome.

I thought it was good but I was dissapointed about why the villagers and it but I didn't expect the ending with Owen and Gwen.

Wasn't too bad I suppose. Im glad we finally ended up with a non alien cause, because strictly Torchwood isnt supposed to be pure unadulterated Sci Fi. Gwen shagging Owen right enough, I knew it as soon as I saw her by that window, but it was rather unexpected.

Also... the name of the episode, does anyone have any ideas as to the reasoning behind the spelling?

By the preview of next weeks ep, I see there's some more girl on girl stuff. :D

As someone said on OG, the timing was right for it, which makes sense to me. This was the first thing she couldn't handle -- she couldn't understand.

Sure. It's actually kind of clever when you think about it. ;)

LOL. Yes, okay, I'll admit part of me is looking forward to it, but that's all you get. :P

Ross Hendrie November 21, 2006 3:01 PM

LOL Muahahaaa I got something at least. At least now there's a reasonable guarantee that there will be 'action' every week now that Gwen and Owen are... you know. :D

Danny Stewart November 21, 2006 3:26 PM

LOL! Oh, Ross. Oh, Ross, Ross, Ross... :P

Ben Dawson November 21, 2006 3:56 PM

I don't think he's the only one looking forward to next weeks episode...Torchwood is now a big part of my Sunday schedule.

Danny Stewart November 21, 2006 4:06 PM

Mine too, except I usually end up seeing it some time around midnight or 1:00 in the morning!

Ronnie Rowlands November 22, 2006 5:22 AM

Why's that? The girl on girl action? Doesn't look like it'll be much, and the episode itself actually looks reasonably good.

Are you kidding? Try watching the preview more slowly. It does look like it'll be much. :)

But yeah, looks good next week.

LMAO. Okay, I hadn't noticed. I'll check again for you.

What a great episode - probably the best of the lot so far. 9/10.

Ross Hendrie November 22, 2006 5:45 PM

I see MI7 doesn't think much of it.

I really disliked it yes. The other episodes had me hooked but with this I had urges to turn over and watch something else. The plot was really random and Jack jumping in at the end and capping those foo' s like Tony Montana seemed a bit contrived.

Just my honest opinion, sorry. I expect some science fiction in my Sci-Fi shows :P. It felt more like The League of Gentlemen.
