We're back!

We're back, everyone! The downtime is over and it is safe to post once again. I didn't finish everything I'd hoped to, so there may be additional downtime in the near future, but for now, don't be afraid to post or anything, as we're back to full capacity. Enjoy! :)

Yay! What did you not manage to do?

"Oh nothing much, connect the server, pay for the connection, lock the room which holds the big red button (and keys)" ;)

Dalek104 January 27, 2007 11:47 AM

Yay. :) I was busy last night anyway, so I wasn't affected. :P

Reformat the server... :P

I kinda of wanted to start fresh on the server. But I didn't have time. I worked from 1 am to 5 am and was too tired to undertake extra work. Perhaps later.

Sam Davies January 29, 2007 8:05 AM

What happened? I wasn't here.

Jez January 29, 2007 12:15 PM

The world briefly ended, before restarting again. Erm, and the magnetic poles switched (again ) so your compass is wrong.

Danny Stewart January 29, 2007 1:30 PM

Thanks for saving me the explanation, Jez. ;)

Sam Davies February 5, 2007 10:13 AM

Oh right I was probably asleep oh well.

No problemo. By the way, did you know the public profiles aren't working? Lovely PHP errors - how I adore them. :D ;)

Danny Stewart February 5, 2007 3:06 PM

I had no idea... thanks for bringing that to my attention. I think I'll be dismantling the Zoints system.

Ronnie Rowlands February 5, 2007 4:46 PM

Hooray!! Down With Zionts!! Anarchy!!

Recurring Villain February 6, 2007 12:44 AM

The Zoints system was terrible from the beginning.

Good riddance :P

Ben Dawson February 6, 2007 5:37 AM

I found it a little pointless.

Danny Stewart February 6, 2007 12:27 PM

Well, it's been deactivated now.

Jez February 6, 2007 2:33 PM

ROFLSHISMS TBH IMHO

*Danny installs Zoints*
*Everybody (used in the loosest sense) goes along the lines of "ZOMG ZOINTS IS TEH SHIZZLE!!!111elves"*
*Danny moves server*
*At some point, the Zoints system dies (YAY! PHP errors!!)*
*Danny decides to remove Zoints*
*Everybody (used in the loosest sense) goes along the lines of "ZOMG ZOINTS IS SHITE LOL!!!!11111dwarves"*

Danny Stewart February 6, 2007 2:37 PM

LOL. Thanks for that informative history of the Zoints web system, Jez. :P

To be honest, I have no idea what would have brought about its demise though...

Jez February 6, 2007 3:52 PM

In my experience, PHP and SQL have a habbit of failing randomly. When working there's very little that surpasses them.

There's an error we have at Bab Studio. You can go for years without seeing it. Then, it'll occur repeatedly over a month and a bit before disappearing again. No body knows why it does it, or what needs fixing. We just let it get on with it. :D

Sorry, don't you mean "Habit"? :P

Jez February 7, 2007 5:10 AM

Certainly I did. But if you were to consider the fact that it was a double letter error, it's quite likely to be due to a keyboard jam situation, "mmuch like this".
