Locked Threads

Sorry, I was just wondering why most of the threads here on the forum are locked?

Dalek104 March 12, 2007 12:36 PM

Either they're out of date, an unwanted dispute has taken place or there is no longer any meaning for the thread to be open to more posts. I think they're the only reasons. ;)

Danny Stewart March 12, 2007 1:05 PM

I have a mod installed that automatically locks threads after 30 days of no one posting in them. This prevents people from going back and dredging up ancient threads, which I dislike. If you'd like to talk about something already covered in an existing thread, you are welcome to start a new one. If you think there is some specific reason why a thread should remain open even if it has been locked automatically, feel free to send me a PM and I will reopen it.

Glad to be of some service. ;)

*Sigh* He's made his 10 posts and he doesn't even come back. Can't satisfy some folk.

Excuse me?

I find that rude, actually.

Danny Stewart March 15, 2007 11:49 AM

LOL. Hi Barney. See Ronn? :P

Do these break Rules 1 and 8 of the Code of Conduct, somehow? Surely.

Mind your posts. Please be mindful of what you say. Don't post anything that could be construed as objectionable, and avoid excessive profanity.

No personal attacks. Personal, malicious attacks on members will not be tolerated in the slightest.

:P

RV's I would have to agree with, but Ronn is just used to members abandoning the forums very quickly after joining. I can't say I blame him... it's happened far too often.

I didn't sign anything. ;)

Of course you did, you had to "agree" to the Code of Conduct when you joined. Clearly, you don't wish to abide by the rules however.

Ronnie Rowlands March 16, 2007 2:55 PM

There was no code of conduct when RV joined. At least I don't think so. There wasn't when I joined. RV is trying to make light of it, and you're just getting cocky.

Err, he was still rude though, as were you. I'm just standing up for whats right, I'm not going to get taunted by a couple of bullies.

Ben Dawson March 16, 2007 6:14 PM

they're not bullies, you just need to adjust to how things work here, it'll take time, but don't worry, you'll get there.

Danny Stewart March 16, 2007 7:23 PM

Everyone, please just relax. RV needs to abide by the rules just like everyone else.

What do you think this is, Kindergarten? Compared to the last 'smart' guy, in fact, compared to how I am in general, I've been rather amicable towards you. I can be much, much worse.

By the looks of it, any worse and you'd cry yourself to sleep. Welcome to the internet, matey.

I'd suggest you count your lucky stars and get over what little criticism you've so far received. It's not a good idea to make enemies with a guy who can edit your posts, and even making enemies with Ronnie won't go down well with most of us here ;)
