Downtime possible today
 
Just wanted to alert everyone to the possibility of site downtime at some point later today. We will be moving servers around and our server will most likely be shut down for some length of time. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Nah, I like downtime, especially on DS.com because it hardly ever happens. Its the same reason I like power outages, because the electricity supply is very stable where I live.

I know exactly what you mean. I enjoy power outages for the same reason.

iPhone, sir. Even though I haven't had a power outage in the time I've had my iPhone, I still imagine it will come in quite handy if one occurs. :P

Also, the fact that my MacBook Pro has a battery (and one with a good life at that) may also be helpful. :D

In other news, there was no downtime today. The servers weren't ready to be moved, so we'll be experiencing downtime some other time when they are ready to be moved.

Danny's dad put wheels on the server racks and they've been having races around the datacenter.

Yeah but I can't exactly use an iPod touch or an iPhone on the internet if every Wi-Fi router within a 4 mile radius has no power, and if its a really bad power cut, every mobile phone mast.

I took the photo that made my website banner during a powercut. Thinks you do in those rare instances where you have a new camera, now power, and some strange source of light, along with....nvm.

rofl, Jez, your banner never shows up on your website for me, Safari just tries to download it, gets about 1/8th of the way down and gives up and plonks a blue [?] in my face.

Thinks I do when I have now power.
