Looking for a new webhost
With the discovery of the wonderful tool known as ComicCMS, I know what I want to do with SKcomics.net. It's going to become a multi-webcomic hosting site. Me and two friends of mine are going to host our comic works on the site, dividing it into subdomains. I do think I'll be doing this for more than them in the future, though I do believe I may charge a little something for it... :P
I'm also going to use it for just general purposes on the side, uploading random shit and stuff. Anyway, aknowledging any and all of the suckiness of Geocities Pro, can I see some better hosts? Needs to have: 1. Subdomain and email support. I've got 5 subdomains and 3 email addresses. Hopefully the new package supports more than the Geocities Pro maximum. 2. PHP and perhaps SQL support(though I doubt any of you would suggest a host that didn't support those things, and iStrip doesn't even need SQL) 3. Generally better than or equal to the http://geocities.yahoo.com/ps/learn/HowItWorks4_Pro.html without costing much more. 4. Easy or at least mostly easy to follow interface. I'm not a command-line person. |
Are you prepared to pay money?

If your anwser to RV is 'yes'.. there's plenty of hosts out there. You just need to learn/know how to use a FTP, it's really simple.
http://www.startlogic.com/ http://www.hostmonster.com/ http://www.bluehost.com/ Etc, etc.. |
If your answer to RV is 'no'... then you're totally wasting your time.

*meaning 'could beat the crap out of RV' not 'looks like a balloon from eating McDonalds every single day of his life'. |

And I can use FTP. (<3 Cyberduck) I'll take a look at those, thanks! |
I've been using the Business Plus plan from www.ixwebhosting.com for over a year now and I'm very happy with it.
