Spoiler policy now enforced

The DannyStewart.com spoiler policy will now be enforced in full. The policy is very simple and will be outlined below.

No spoilers for an episode may be posted unless the episode has aired in both the US and the UK. Any spoiler posted will be edited or removed on the spot, and the poster removed from the forums for one week.

I really didn't want to have to do this. I thought that us people from the US could just sit back in the corner and have a calm, civilized discussion without disturbing the people from the UK who visit the forum. But it appears that certain people will not allow this to happen, so rather than allow more spoilers to be leaked, the policy is in effect immediately.

I believe I once outlined the policy very simply by saying something along the lines of you can use the internet to spoil things all you want, but my site won't be the means of delivery for such spoiler information.

Hope that's clear. Thank you.

I have found something that may be useful [link], its something that makes a tag in which people can hide content to people who havn't posted in a topic, that way if someone wants to see what's hidden by the tag then they will have to reply to the topic and you can see who has been viewing something that you don't want them to view.

Rogue, you are fantastic at that kind of thing. Thank you very much. I will definitely look into that.

What about me...it isn't fair :)

Chris Britton September 29, 2005 2:24 AM

Yes, we seemt o be getting people form Austailia missed out on this. :P

Good idea Danny, and to Rogue too.

Australia's viewing schedule was considered, but it really can't be predicted. At least the US and UK people get them on some kind of timeframe, for example, within a year or so. I don't know about you folks.

Chris Britton September 29, 2005 3:34 PM

sounds fair, it is a good idea danny.

Danny Stewart September 29, 2005 4:52 PM

Thank you, Chris.

We get them the same time you guys do. Our episodes air on Saturday night at 7:30pm

This is outrageous! Just because I decide to look at the Pegasus topic, a full spoiler ban is enforced. This is completely outrageous.

What show are you talking about, Daniel? Doctor Who? There was a several week delay between the airing of episodes in Britain (Saturdays at 7:00 pm by the way, not 7:30) and the airing of the episodes in Australia. The one show I actually do bother to track in its airing around the world is Doctor Who.

And Ross, I'm sorry you feel that way. You know I'm paranoid about spoilers and I've had that rule since the beginning. I had hoped you were aware of its presence and wouldn't have done something like that. But honestly, it's my site, and if you don't like the policy, there's not much you can do other than voice your disapproval in a calm and respectful manner. If you can't handle that, I suggest you don't discuss it at all and simply follow the rules you are given.
