I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but what do you guys think about the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. If you are pretty clueless about the subject then I suggest you watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQNpucos9wc.

This stuff is really eye opening. I don't mean to offend any religious people but if this is proved then religion has been catapulted into the nearest bargain bin. Oh, and I wouldn't go believing that the worlds going to end because let me assure you that it very much will not. The worry is that the particles will create a black hole. Just to get the numbers right I would like to inform everyone that there is a less than 1% chance of this happening and even if it does happen then it will only last a 300th of a nanosecond so dont worry guys the apocolypse isn't here....... yet.

Know what would be hilarious? If it DID create a black hole and we were just sucked into a different universe instead of destroyed. It'd be tragically hilarious because a different universe would likely have different physics altogether, making the entire LHC experiment useless, as it wouldn't tell us anything about the universe we'd be in then.

... of course that wouldn't explain how we would still be alive.
