He's won.

Barack Obama, democratic president candidate, has won. He represented change, hope, and generally fixing up Bush's mess.

Let me first say I'm not all that optimistic. Obama was always my favored candidate, but I doubt he is going to live up to what he represents. I may be proven wrong, but that's what I think. At least he'd be better than McCain would.

Never the less... I jumped for joy when he was elected. I put aside my cynicism for just a little while to truly enjoy the moment.
Don't worry, it's back. :D

But anyway, this is still a historic moment. Barack Obama stands to become the first biracial President of the US. And who knows, perhaps he will live up to his promises... he's not exactly your average elect.

Hooray!

My sentiments exactly. Let's hope we're both proven wrong. Although it's true. Anything is better than McCain and Palin.

As happy as I am though, I wish people on campus would stop partying and wildly screaming over it because it's 1 AM on a Wednesday and I have class in the morning. *especially loud screams after I typed this* Ugh. I'm never going to be able to sleep. :(

I have to admit I'm having trouble staying pessimistic. I mean, I'm trying, so far it's working, but even so I can't help but feel really confident about him. Oh well...
And even if he does live up to what he represents, it's gonna be a long road... getting from here to there. Said so himself.
lolenterprise

Well, somebody else said it better:

Hooray! I would rather not have a geriatric and a crazy woman running the worl- err.... I mean the US.

Superkid11 November 5, 2008 5:56 PM

Let's just hope some idiot doesn't try to shoot him. Or that he doesn't turn out to be The Master or something.

Ross Hendrie November 5, 2008 6:50 PM

It would have been awesome if he had risen out of the ground into a bulletproof box for his victory speech.

Superkid11 November 5, 2008 8:03 PM

That would've been awesome, but I'm sure the Secret Service is really good about pwning anyone who'd try to attack him. ;)

He really does emanate awesomeness.

Megan November 6, 2008 12:20 PM

That is one of the most BAMF things I've ever seen. Finally, we have a BAMF in the White House and not some retarded old guy.

Chris Britton November 7, 2008 6:25 PM

Good luck to Obama, I wish him all the best =)

My school held an election, which obviously didn't count! Obama won.

YOU'RE SHIT

Because you supported Hillary. Or McCain. Or Mussolini or whoever.

Superkid11 November 11, 2008 8:09 PM

Now now, none of that...

Ronnie Rowlands November 12, 2008 5:18 PM

He can say what he wants because we're still waiting, and I believe it's been 6 months now, for these remarkable new rules that are going to be put in place, I think.

Superkid11 November 12, 2008 6:53 PM

Fair point... still, I'm doing my job in that I'm trying to prevent a shitstorm. I'm not so sure I can do that without using mod powers so maybe I'll stop trying until I get told otherwise. :p
As long as James doesn't react...

In the interim, it's mod rule. Since there are no official rules in place, moderators use their own judgment and have complete authority.

While I enjoyed Rat's post, your response was not inappropriate. Keep doing your job as you see fit to do it.

Superkid11 November 12, 2008 9:35 PM

So like... in theory I could run around naked and delete posts with my pee? Sweet.

Nah, I'll just stick to facepalming and saying "Okay okay enough has been said" and things like that unless shit starts to hit the fan.
The fan is only in moderate danger so far.

Here we go again... I'm just going away now. [Well, until he's gone...]:tardis:
