Moderator nomination
It's time to nominate the users you think would be best suited to start moderating the forums. Moderation is not extraordinarily complicated, but it's essential to the smooth operation of the forums. A moderator would have to be someone (preferably with 200 posts or more) who was very active on the forums (preferably visits no fewer than once every three days) and dedicated to stopping inappropriate behavior and making sure things around here stay pleasant and friendly.
A moderator on these forums would have to close threads that had gotten way off track or provoked an argument, split off threads that have branched into a different area of discussion, approve posts from troublesome users (if this need arises), stick and unstick threads, merge similar threads into one, move threads that are inappropriately placed to the correct forum, etc. Occasionally there may be a need to delete or modify offensive or extremely inappropriate posts, but this will be rarely, if ever, required.
If anyone has any questions, please ask. Otherwise, please start nominating the users you feel would be well suited to the task. Already in consideration is Chris Britton, however he may be seconded if users agree that he would be a good choice. Marinedalek, when here, is already a moderator, and so is my brother, Ian Stewart.
