Apple is perfectly capable of brainwashing people themselves. Perhaps too much so if they can convince people like you to make advertisements for them.

Copying other peoples' style is hardly showing off your design skill. Its merely showing off how well you can emulate someone else's work. There's even a term for it:
plagiarism.
If you want to 'show off' your graphic design capabilities, make something original.
