I don't think so, laptops are too complex to DIY. There's airflow management, weight, keeping it compact, etc. I imagine some people do, but they're probably engineering wizards.

I discovered the student rebate isn't going to be implemented until I've left secondary school. Useful.
But yeah, my dad gets 1 laptop a year (from any provider) for half price because of his work. He's got like 3 laptops now O__o. That means I can get a Macbook Pro for around AUD$1500.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Macbook Pro, anyway.
I'm curious, do Macbooks have any kind of anti-theft protection?
