I'm no authority on the subject, but yes, it's been proven time and time again by studies.
Your protein needs from meat are EASILY filled from veggies, fruits, beans and grains.
The only thing meat really has exclusively going for it is B12, but you can get that from supplements.
Your body does NOT need meat.
I'm going to see if I can dig up some of the official studies though.
