Audacity tips.

I want to try and make a fast-paced battle music version of the Dalek theme. I downloaded Audacity some time ago, but I haven't really used it much. I did a few things with it last night, like I learned how to speed up the theme and put its original pitch back. Other than that I'm not very sure how to approach it. I do know I would like to insert a drum beat. I tried the drums from the end of the theme but they didn't work out too well...

Do any of you use audacity and have tips that can help me out? Along with Audacity I have the free version of Wavepad, which records perfectly but has rather basic editing tools.

Ooh... I would never use Audacity to do something like what you're attempting. Unfortunately you're not going to be able to do much with free software here. A project like this sounds like it would need some more advanced software, like Sony Sound Forge or Sony ACID Pro, along with some kind of drum sample library. If I have time in the near future I'll try and put one together for you using what I've got (ACID Pro and a bunch of good orchestral drum libraries).

Oh... well, thanks anyway. I'd love to see what you could come up with, but MI7 PMed me something I can use perfectly. Still, I'll look into those programs... I can only go on borrowed music for these flash movies for some time before I run out, especially when working with an animator who's pretty picky.

You know, Tom, it's not polite to answer a public request privately and then leave the rest of us wondering what you've sent him.
