Steve Jobs is silly

Thought this might be of interest to our resident Apple fanatics;

Steve Jobs has cancer. However, the cancer is a 1/100 case that can be beaten if operated on, which means he's a very lucky man.

However, instead of doing what any sane person would do and choosing to have it operated on, Mr. Jobs decided to "...employ alternative methods to treat his pancreatic cancer, hoping to avoid the operation through a special diet - a course of action that hasn't been disclosed until now."

I guess he's poured every last inch of his brain into Apple and now there's not much of it left...

Source.

I read this story weeks ago. Steve Jobs is very centered on alternative forms of medicine. He was big into drugs back in the good old days (not sure about it anymore), and he lived in India and adopted a monk-like mentality while he was there. He's big into alternative stuff these days, and from what I heard, it was not just special diet that he did, but also meditation and a few other things. I don't fault him for what he did -- in the end, he beat it.

He beat it? The article didn't say anything about him 'beating' it...

Well, the articles I read a few weeks ago seemed to imply that he had beaten it, but I'm not sure. I believe he is alright though.

See here: http://arstechnica.com/journals/appl...or-nine-months

Money quote: "Jobs is no longer the 20-something spitfire who raised the Jolly Roger over Bandley and found himself ousted by his hand-picked CEO shortly after the release of the Mac. His choice to pursue a natural alternative to serious surgery was no doubt as carefully considered as the radius of the curved edges of a MacBook. Elkind may consider Jobs' behavior risky, but his willingness to take a chance on something he believes in is arguably one of the factors that have made Apple the success that it is today."

If he is over it, then I'm willing to be he probably would have gotten over it with or without any treatment. Although, placebos have been known to have effects in the past.

Um, actually he beat it because of the surgery. It removed the tumor and now all is well.
