RV's moderator status
RV suggested to me that we run a poll to see who thinks he should stay on as a moderator and who thinks his moderator privileges should be revoked. It's a fair idea, and I will certainly abide by the majority decision, so please vote.

I'm afraid I wasn't around to see it happen so It's hard for me to judge. He sounds a little trigger-happy with the ban-button...
... since when could Moderators ban anyway? I thought they could only suspend... O_o (I admin two invisionfree forums.)
I'll say give him another chance, but don't let him do anything without you knowing about it first. (Aside maybe from deletion of spammy posts.)

There are temporary bans that can be given too, not just permanent.

Sound in principle but I'm more concerned about his verbal conduct towards some of the other members.

Well I'm thinking twice about my vote now. I probably should've looked over his posts first... at first I thought he was just a mostly-tollerable smartass but one of the bans I saw(and I'm sure there were others) looked rediculous. O_o
Kinda fits his name doesn't he?

He wasn't always like this, which is the sad part. He used to be a nice guy, and very enthusiastic. But yeah, recently he's fit his name more and more.

Unfortunately the internet tends to change people. I used to be quiet and reserved, but thanks to the internetz, this forum I now co-admin, and my girlfreind, I've become quite dirty minded. Don't worry, I'm not too keen on showing it. xD

I quite agree. The internet is also a wall that people hide behind. Quite often, the people who bully other people online aren't all that confident in their RL. It's not unexpected really. We can all create a completely different persona to the one we have in RL on the internet, if we wanted to.

Don't worry. We're running a system that means only the Admins (i.e. Danny (mainly)) have "permission" to perma ban. Moderators can only do temporary bans (i.e. suspensions) and they are expected (if not, required) to discuss this with other staff members.

By the way, if you don't know RV or the events very well, don't feel that you have to vote.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him it was really quite hypnotic.
*Officially the most likeable person since the last one*

Welcome back, Daryl. That's why we're having this poll - Should RV keep his status as a moderator?

It seems a decision has been reached. Because of the 6 to 1 vote in favor of removing RV's moderator status, it is with sadness that I now declare RV's status as a moderator on these boards revoked. RV is now just a regular member with no moderator privileges of any kind.

well, there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said already, I agree with what's been said, all the same, it's a shame.

Hi again, and bye again!
Good to see democracy finally deposing of a tyrant, if it is only on the internet.

Fortunatly i havnt had any run-ins with RV and was basically placed with the rest of the pack and temp banned for the reason of a smily face. but im still uncertain as to why RV went on a ban rampage with us maybe a reason could be poasted then leading onto a forgive and fogive or i would be satisfied with a private message from RV with a explantion, or if i have all ready missed the explantion and the commotion im sorry. feels good to be back. maybe RV will be a little more tolerant. who knows.
Danny i see a very good use of administrative ermm use? no sides taken left it all fair i admire that well done.
cmon lets get dannystewarts back on its feet no need for drama. be well people.

I really hope you're not leaving because you're no longer a moderator! Note that the poll question was not "Should RV remain on the forums?"

All we can do is hope he has realized his mistakes and that he wishes to make good on them. I meen i have never had any personal encounter nor been hated by RV .. I hope not any way. But from what iv seen hes diserved a look over and or a removal of his privelages he gave a tough ride to most new people and was given a little leece on some posts but they continued i believe. So heres the consequences i guess. But people can start over and have another go so good luck RV and all the best!.

Hello, RV!
Seriously, I hope you will stay, RV. I don't want you to leave, and I'm hoping being a moderator wasn't the only reason you stayed.
Come back!
