'Twas brilliant, although I can't remember much of it (slept since then, and travelled a bit too ).

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him it was really quite hypnotic.

I enjoyed it a lot too -- I was impressed at how good Chibnall's script turned out to be. 9/10 from me.

I think this has got to be one of my favourites from this series so far.

After his TW work, and now this, I'd say he's a safe bet for frequent writer mileage. It would be interesting to see him write something non-sci-fi too. I reckon he'd do a good job on something similar to Spooks.

"Countrycide" wasn't exactly sci-fi.

I liked it a lot. And the fact it was set in real time. They emphasised this really well with all the running and screaming and sweating. Although I was confused when Marth and the Doctor looked *directly* at the sun out of that window. Bald guy (Ashton) was in an episode of Frost as a hitman. Was a bit similar to Impossible Planet, but then again, IP was similar to Robots of Death, service droids going mental and killing all the crew on a ship, even the voices were similar! Next weeks episode looks good, hehe, and Clark (big fat guy) played Ray Butler in an episode of Frost in 1993

(Robots of Death rules, but D84 died )

Yeah Ronn, in reality at that range through plain glass your whole body would be burned. Like that guy from Sunshine.

Hmm. Not exactly what I was thinking of, but I guess you're right. I was thinking more about the blindness bit. The fact it hurts my cold blue eyes when I look at it from my window, but they can look from just a few miles is a bit weird.

Aw, come on -- of all the things you could choose to pick on, you pick one of the one's that's probably the easiest to explain. At that point in time, especially considering what the ship set out to do, it's very easy to imagine that they'd invented ships' hulls and shielding that protects against heat and radiation from the sun, and even easier to imagine that they'd heard of a little something called tinted windows.

Danny is correct, if we can shield small probes form the sun like Mariner 10, then no doubt the future would mean we can do it to ships, Star trek has done it anyway

Another solid episode too., so far the series has not let me down, although it's not really broken that 10/10 barrier the first 2 series has done, heres hoping the finale will be something special.

Loved the real time nature of it....and the "adventure" music used in several episodes but to great length (has anyone given it a name yet?) is very addictive! I found myself humming it endlessly both after this episode and after Utopia when it was used over the Master's "emergence" :-)

I just call it "the trailer music".

Yeah, I also love it and really hope it comes out on the new soundtrack this year.

EDIT: And because I'm so kind, have these.

Trailer Music (42)
Trailer Music (Utopia)
