Haha. I've honestly been meaning to get one for awhile, but broke college student means no chance in hell of getting a brand new mac.

If only BootCamp let one put OS X on a PC.

Bear in mind, it's illegal, totally unsupported, unreliable, and can be a downright pain in the ass to get working. Some computers apparently have no problem with it, but others (like my frigging guest computer) seem to rabidly dislike OS X. I've spent about four weeks now trying to get it working, still to no avail.

I like to think of it as a "demo" of Mac OS X -- something to tide you over until you can make the step up to a real one. (It's what got me through those last painful months before I got my MacBook Pro.)

I think it would require a computer with the same hardware that Apple uses to function properly. But in that case it would probably cost so much that it wouldn't justify not buying the real thing.

The same or similar. Really, it can be made to work with just about anything if you screw with it enough. It's just easiest on hardware similar to Apple's.

There's no justification for not buying the real thing except "I don't have enough money right now." The only reason I would recommend it is, like I said above, to tide you over until you can afford the real thing.

That's the idea.

Aye, that became clear after reading an article on it, just had no prior knowledge of this.

Sounds cool, like you said, a demo to tide you over.

Seeing as I only have one computer now and it's used for everything I do, probably won't be trying it. Just will have to save up and get a mac someday.

Yeah. It can be fun to play with though.

When i get home I might try it there, since my Laptop is sort of essential to Uni.

But then again, perhaps i should download it onto all the Uni Computers, since they are bladdy Dell's anything would be an improvement
