Yeah it's easy to get those 2 mixed up. Ummm.

EDIT: Sorry about '17', I meant to say 'The Beginning' box set, darn it.

That would be a instant, easy buy for me.. being such a Baker fan.. but, $100 is kinda steep.

Might I recommend the beginnings boxset for the last time, before it comes to threatening notes and emails from me demanding you buy it?

Hartnell sucks.

Pertwee/Davison/Troughton/Eccleston/Tennant/Baker/Baker ftw.

Not Paul McGann though. Or McCoy.

Right Kody, you'll have to wait your turn for the death threats, I have someone else on my 'Little List' right now.

The Pyramids of Mars is another good one was the third Video I bought back in the early 90's and it is a Slightly creepy story.
Just avoid the invasion of time it is really bad!(although if you like cockney sontarans and really really bad effects it is worth it).
Yes the Beginning box set is a good one to get, It is sooo different from even the Tom Baker era it really is a must have.
I have all the existing stories/episodes on either dvd or vhs and from my own point of view this is what I would recommend.
Nice and boring post (sorry!)

WTF Tom, WTF!

McCoy I'll let you slide on.. but Hartnell himself and McGann? Aww..

Probably just going to end up getting the Beginnings set for a well rounded start, then pick up some singles.. Pyramid does look like a good choice.. argh, so many!

Seriously! That's just unforgivable.

Well you can cancel the death threats now. I think you intimidated him so much that he decided to just buy the boxset.

A little off-topic briefly, buy something I've noticed over here in North America concerning a few "Doctor Who" titles produced prior to the New Series - rights issues.

Both the "Davros Boxset" and "Remembrance of the Daleks: Special Edition" (two-disc version) have been indefinately delayed over here because of some kind of rights issues. Doesn't make sense to me, because they were able to release the single-disc "Remembrance" over here just fine with no problems a number of years ago, with some of the archive music for the cafe scenes substituted.

And North America is still waiting, after twelve years, for the Paul McGann TV Movie to come out here.
(Happy twelfth anniversary to Paul if he's reading this; unlikely, but he may join the forum at a later date ).

Isn't it interesting how classic Series releases can become bogged down in legal red tape so easily, yet the Beeb goes out of its way to buy the rights to include 45 seconds of Britney Spears' "Toxic" on the Series One release?

I just wish the Beeb would take the time to clear the stuff and get these titles released on both sides of the pond. It'll make their beloved fans very, very happy.

Speaking of Britney Spears' "Toxic", check out this "WhoMix" entry from a few years ago.

So, was about to go buy a boxset.. then another question struck me.

Kinda pointless probably. But does anyone have a recommendation for where to buy DVD's online?

I usually just go with Amazon, but who knows, maybe one of you knows some awesome place for DVD's akin to newegg for computers.

I usually go with Amazon as well, but I always compare with DeepDiscountDVD.com. If there's only a $2-$3 difference I just go with Amazon, but sometimes there's more.
