Water and poisoning.
My ex(who is still a very close friend) recently got a Gardasil shot and got horribly sick from it.
Do some research on it, Garasil's been doing way more harm than good. She's one of many.
Her body is reacting as if it were poisoning. I heard that drinking lots of water can help wash poison out of your system. Is this true? I recently told her about that and I'm hoping it works.
(She's taking Motrin to fight it off, or at least make herself feel better for a few hours)
On top of that, does anyone else here know any other ways to counter it? I'm really worried about her.

To be honest, seeing a doctor is probably better than any help we can offer here.
I've heard the same about water but (unsuprisingly!) I haven't tested it out.

She's going to do that on Monday, and she saw a different one yesterday who seemed reluctant to aknowlege that it could have been the shot.

Well of course they'd be reluctant, Superkid. They'd have to admit that they might very well be poisoning the ladies of the world.

I'm pretty sure constantly drinking water should help to flush the toxins out of her system. That really sucks, though. Vaccines and shots always make me kind of nervous. I hope she feels better soon.

My advice is never to be your own Doctor and never try anything that you've "heard about" to cure whatever is wrong. Go to the Doctor and say that it was the shot and there is absolutely no doubt about it.

I agree that seeing a Doctor should be a #1 priority over any seeming "replacement", but I think anything that can be done that might help, unless it's too iffy(and drinking lots of water can't possibly be iffy, it'd just make you have to pee a lot), should be done. Especially for something like this.
My suggestion to her about water was merely a supplement to seeing a Doctor and getting their advice, not a replacement.

I hate shots. I'm squeamish. I freak out over getting my finger pricked because it stings & I'm not the one doing it.

A lot ... and lotta lotta water can be dangerous.
Quite a few people have died because there friends have given them a lot of water when they are drunk ... but thinking about it its probably only dangerous if its in a short space of time!?

You need 8+ glasses of water a day, OD'ing on water would be.. pretty hard, but still.

Yeah but advising people to drink lots of water can result in them overdoing it and killing themselves...

Those sorts of deaths must be horrible for the connected family.
You want to laugh so hard but also cry uncontrollably ... what do you do??

Oh that status is a couple days old, although I suppose it's still pretty apt. I've just been down in the dumps lately. Feeling lonely and depressed and all that. School's coming up soon and I'm feeling unmotivated and hopeless.

The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day! You are unlikely to suffer from water intoxication, even if you drink a lot of water, as long as you drink over time as opposed to intaking an enormous volume at one time. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake. You may need more water if the weather is very warm or very dry, if you are exercising, or if you are taking certain medications. The bottom line is this: it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition.
|
Nearly all deaths related to water intoxication in normal individuals have resulted either from water drinking contests, in which individuals attempt to consume more than 3 gallons (10 litres) of water over the course of just a few minutes, or long bouts of intensive exercise during which electrolytes are not properly replenished, yet massive amounts of fluid are still consumed.

Talk about it. Day I broke up my nearest department store put up the "Back to school" display.
Contents of display: Smiley Faces, paper aeroplanes, football (soccer), happy school days.
School kids walking past: PISSED OFF!
When do you go back? I'm 3rd or 4th September!
