Classes start on the 2nd but I have to go back on the 31st to set up my room and get situated.
I hope school doesn't suck for everyone!

I'm doing my GCSEs so it will suck. But hope you have some good times and it ain't all bad for you. At the back of my head theres always something that doesn't mind going back to school because you get to see all your friends again

Yeah I hope it isn't all bad for me either. I wish I had the desire to go back to school to see friends, but unfortunately, due to an extremely rough and traumatizing year, I didn't make many. I chalked up a few acquaintances but not much more. I'm mostly excited about the isolation I'm going to get in my single room, free from hassle and the presence of others.
Good luck on your GCSEs. According to Wikipedia they sound like a bitch. I hope you have fun going back regardless of the workload.

Thanks it'll be good to get them out of the way and I hope I do good. I'm not normally one for "exam technique"
I'm sorry to hear you had a bit of a rough time! Mind you friends always get annoying at school. Spend all day with them for months on end you want to spread them out a bit I suppose. I've got to say without my sport, rowing, I wouldn't be as confident as I am now. Maybe a good hobby or sport or some kind of continuous social activity can help you meet new people.
I guess we are always here for you and you have Danny too

Good luck! Just study hard and you should be fine. Even if you're not good on tests, if you're prepared enough you should succeed.

I'm definitely planning on joining some sort of club. I missed the activities expo last year and so I didn't get the chance to sign up for any groups. In college it's really tough to find places to socialize if you don't like partying.

School sucks, that's why I was home educated, but I'm starting college in less than a month. I'm looking forward to it a lot.
I've picked up some things, and here's something you can do to make you confidence rise a little. Raise your shoulders, look straight in-front of yourself when walking, and not at the floor, when standing and walking, keep your shoulders back so that you chest raises outwards a little bit. Not abnormally so, but you'd be able to judge what would be abnormal and what wouldn't. And if you find something to smile about, then smile.
Pretty soon, you should be able to pick up enough confidence to start really socializing. I know I have. There was a time when I had more online friends than RL friends, but that's changed, and all since I put all that into effect.
It may be pretty hard to begin with, that's where psyco-cybernetics come in, it's all about destroying paths in your brainwaves that lead to bad habits, and creating new ones that lead to good habits, and it all takes 21 days. If you concentrate on reaching a certain goal, like fixing posture for example, and conciously attempt to fix it for 21 days, it will effectively close off the bad pathways and create good ones. It all takes 21 days, no more, no less. Try it, it's pretty amazing stuff .

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him it was really quite hypnotic.

TORTURES of year nine? Years 7, 8 and 9 are the mess about years, Jamie. Year 10 is where the real slogging starts.

I've just been through 10. As hard work as it is, I personally found it a fun year. Got on well with friends and sports etc.
Hated Year 9. Year 8 was the best ever!

Back on topic, I'm delighted to say my friend's gotten much better. Now her red cell count is just really low and she needs to take iron supplements for the next couple of months and she'll be back to normal!

Relieved to hear it Superkid. I wish her a continued speedy recovery.
