Most BBS systems have the ability for multiple themes to be used, I can't imagine vBulletin is any different. Why not just have the old design as an option for those who don't like this one?

vBulletin does indeed support the use of multiple styles. However, if I leave more than one style running on the site, that means any changes I make to the style have to be made to more than one style. It's enough of a nightmare adjusting one style to add a new mod or feature. Two or more is not reasonable for me.
