Doctor Who 2x13 - "Doomsday"

Plot Summary
Returning to Earth in the modern day, the Doctor and Rose discover that humanity has embraced what are believed to be ghosts returned from the dead. Suspicious, the Doctor follows the trail of the ghosts to the headquarters of the sinister Torchwood Institute, which has been established to deal with alien incursions on British soil. But Torchwood itself has been compromised, and may be the first casualty in a transdimensional war which will engulf the Earth -- a war between the Cybermen and the Daleks.

Danny's Review
Excellent episode, although it's a shame that it's all over now... the Daleks insulting the Cybermen was hilarious. I was surprised to see that there was fighting between the Daleks and the Cybermen to the extent that could be considered a war. Ross can take all the credit he likes, although it pisses me off when people like Ross get so cocky and arrogant about something and then are actually right about it. If they didn't start an attitude problem and assume so frustratingly that they are automatically correct, then I would have no problem with them being right. But what this is doing in the review section, I have no idea. By the way, Ross -- NO DAVROS. SUCK ON THAT. HAHA. Now it's my turn to be cocky and arrogant. Anyway, the emotional finale did have me crying my eyes out regardless of the fact that she didn't die. And about the ending... WTF was that? I guess we'll have to wait until Christmas to find out. 10/10 episode.

.....................................WTF!!!!

Danny, I declare full victory.

There was a war, so collosal an ep. Also, Rose is gone and im sure that broke just about everyone else up, not me im afraid. Though this ep, I mean... WOW. Also, a British Cyberman, for Queen and Country, muahahaha, that was so good.

Thanks for posting this Rat Souffle, im sure Danny will merge this in with
his topic though, once he creates the vote.

Welcome to the forums, i don't think we allow slang terms used in place of words, so i edited your post sorry. but welcome.

The reason he did not was because he wanted to leave the questions to the Doctors relationship open, it;s better that way, i cried too, so i think that was the desired effect.

Oh dear... couple of big problems here.

First of all, Rat Souffle, I know you meant well, but there are lots of special things I do with the episode discussion threads (like a poll, a plot summary, and a specific format), and for that reason only I am allowed to start them. You just have to wait for me to see the episode and not discuss it until I start the appropriate thread.

Second of all, Chris, what you did is censorship and I will not allow it -- I know you too meant well but I don't want people editing other people's posts just because they used slang terms. If there's pornography or extreme foul language or something really inappropriate and possibly offensive, then that's one thing, but editing for slang is completely unacceptable and if I see it again I will have to take that ability away from you. (I don't know why you have it in the first place, actually.)

Now I have some cleanup to do with this thread, rearranging timestamps and things before I can even think about posting my comments about the episode. Oh dear.

I thought that some of the things the Daleks said to the Cybermen where not very Dalek Like,(I.E THIS IS PEST-CONTROL!!! YOU ARE BETTER AT DYING!) but hey, who cares, it was funny! Now i can belive that RTD CAN make an episode funny without having everyone shouting like idiots. I also enjoyed the "Identify yourself" argument.

As for the Bride, she will clearly be involved with the next Christmas Episode, The Runaway Bride. And whoa, Did anyone else notice that it was Catherine Tate as the bride?

I do however have one problem with that episode, and I'm hoping that Danny can help me. Why the hell was Chrissie Watts' cyberman turned on the rest of them? How can she do that?

Hey, Ive noticed, there was no reference to the Face of Boe. Will we have to wait till series 3 to find out about it?

I was not expecting face of Boe references in this episode.

I believe the Dalek phrases here were because of that fact they had slightly more individuality, since they were the Cult of Shakro.

Im sorry to Danny for my actions.

I was wondering why Chrissie Watt's character turned on the Cybermen muself, i believe it was her overhwleming sense of duty to her country.

I noticed it was Catherine Tate too.

I tihnk RTD is good at writing two parters, just not individual episodes.

lol KHAAAAAAAAAAN!

That was one of the names of the cult Daleks, and if you've seen Star Trek II you'll get that pic I posted lol.

So yeah, I was confused about Yvonne's cyberman aswell when it turned on the rest. But WOW was it sooo cool.

I think it turned on the rest of the Cybermen because the conversion process was incomplete. That's the feeling I got.

It was incomplete because it was interrupted. They had the big huge conflict right after she went in. It's the only possible explanation. And a point for what?
