Whats your view on Trial of a Time Lord then?

Hi Chris
T of a TT is a mixed bag really. There are some great episodes (13 is a classic) and some really crap ones (Terror of the Vervoids, anyone? Episode 14?). It's got a great theme tune arrangement, though

Have to agree with you. It's too wide a range of stories, really. I liked all the courtroom stuff, but the testimony was a mixed bag.

It does make me wonder how the current run will tie that into the current series. With the Valeyard and everything.

To be fair, Robert Holmes (may he R.I.P.) was the original writer of "The Ultimate Foe" (both episodes), but ill health forced him to hand the writing of the final episode over to other hands. Who knows where episode 14 could have gone if Holmes had been able to complete it...
As it happened, it went to the same two writers who gave us the Vervoids in the first place. In their defense, however, Pip and Jane Baker also gave us the Rani, whose first outing opposite The Mouth And His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - and upstaging the Master to boot - was a hit. Bit of a dodgy sequel, though - apes acting like bats...??? Good old Season 24...
Absolutely right, though - dig that theme arrangement. Can't wait for the remastered version on the DVD.

Most of us know the story behind it, but it doesn't change the fact that 13 was great and 14 was a stinker.

We should do fan-edits like those people did with Star Wars Episode 1. Sorry to have to use Star Wars but it got the point across

Ah, yes - the Jar-Jar-Lite remix I keep hearing about. (Never seen it, though.)
Now if only they could do the same with Spielberg's "War of the Worlds", so that Dakota Fanning whines and screams a lot less...Mesa gotta cover my ears now.
Anyway, geting back on topic - Mr. Glynn, if you were asked back by the Beeb to score upcoming new episodes of New Who, would you do it, and would you prefer to do a new version of the theme, incidental music, or both?

I think you'll find that Dom has answered this question once or twice before.

Valid point. I believe it's set on a per-forum basis -- for this forum, I should set it to show all threads.
EDIT: I've just checked, and it's already set to "Show all threads" for this forum. You must have changed it on yours.
