Doctor Who 1x04 - "Aliens of London"

On this week's episode of Doctor Who, the Doctor tries to bring Rose home to see her mother, only to have the TARDIS inadvertently arrive a year late. As Rose tries to deal with a panic-stricken Jackie and a wary Mickey, a spaceship crashlands in the heart of London. While the people of the city alternately embrace or are horrified by the revelation that there is life on other planets, the Doctor tries to find out what happened to ship's crew. But as lowly MP Harriet Jones discovers, the aliens' arrival is not as recent as Londoners have been led to believe.

It was an excellent episode. This is my first chance to see Doctor Who properly and i was blown away by it. I was quite pleased with the plot and the acting. The humor and plot twists were very interesting as well. Especially when the 'Alien' turned out to be a Pig and that the ET Pig turned out not to be an alien. Quite genius. Only Doctor Who could have thought it up. Then we realise what is really happenng. I am hoping Part 2 will be as much fun.

It was great fun. Definitely my fourth 5/5 in a row. I don't think this series could be more imaginative, creative, and fun. This is what Doctor Who needs to be.

Every episode's a different genre. You don't want too much action in one episode, just like you don't want too little of something else. I personally found this episode perfect just as it was.

Too much action can kill a series. Look at Enterprise. Poor souls. But the episode was good. very nice to way to relax on a Saturday. Unless you count that hillarious conversation we had.

I watched the episode, and it was good. I had thought the pig was an alien for a while, not because it ran around in a spacesuit, but because of the gas problem the aliens had in their disguises.
The twelve mounth error makes me wonder, is the condition of the TARDIS deteriorating?
Off topic, I have a copy of that conversation on my computer, the only problem would be finding it.

That's alright, lol, we can worry about the conversation later. The Doctor's TARDIS has always been in a state of disrepair -- it's older than he is! He always makes slight errors in his course plotting. The old series is full of this. I actually think the TARDIS sometimes has a mind of its own, taking the Doctor to where something of interest will happen instead of the destination he selected. The TARDIS is very close to being a living thing. But think about it, last week the TARDIS took the Doctor to Cardiff in 1869 instead of Naples in 1860, and this week it took him to 2006 instead of 2005. Both of these places required the Doctor's presence a bit more than his originally selected destinations.
