Doctor Who - New Series

Hey Dom!

What do you think of the new series of Doctor Who? Anything you particularly like/dislike about it?

Ah, we're not the only ones Danny . I liked it a first, then it quickly went from love to absolute hatred.

I completely agree! I wrote up a really long review of the episode just after watching it for the first time and I rather completely tore it to shreds. If you have a few minutes, I'd love to hear your thoughts: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=d642zwz_11fp58t6

However I would like to say that Murray did a great job with the music. Especially loved the piece at the end and the electronic Master bits.

I just read your review Danny - so many valid points, and very expertly expressed if I may say so! Oops - bang goes my chance of getting a job on the new series!

Thanks very much, Dom! I will say that the episode gets better on repeated viewings, probably because I've grown numb to all the major plot problems, but whenever I actually think about the fact that this mess of an episode is now a permanent, indelible part of Doctor Who continuity, I get very depressed.

Also, I wouldn't worry about your chances for a future on the new series. For one thing, I doubt RTD would hire anyone but Murray for the job anyway, so just be patient and wait for a new production team (which you know will happen eventually). And for another thing, I have decided to make it my personal mission in life to get you the job of composer for the new series. It's not like I'll have many strings to pull or anything, but I have my connections, so if there's ever anything I can do at any point, know that that's my top priority.

Well you never know mate. If Steven Moffat takes over after series 4 if I was him I'd get some new people working on the show. Some things just don't quite work. I did love Murrays music at the end of Utopia!...yes I did just write that, lol.
