Doctor Who 3x04 - "Daleks in Manhattan"
Plot Summary - Written by Helen Raynor
The Doctor and Martha arrive in 1930s New York, only to find trouble brewing in the Big Apple. They find themselves thrown into an adventure involving Pig Men, sewers, showgirls and the Empire State Building. But the biggest shock is yet to come, as the Cult of Skaro make an unwelcome return -- and this time, the Daleks are attempting to create a Dalek/Human hybrid in the sewers...

Wow. Again, an excellent episode! The Daleks were fantastic, and I enjoyed the acting from all members of the cast. Also, can any British viewers here tell me, did I spot Ricky Gervais as an extra?!? I wasn't too sure about the voice of the half human Dalek though... 8/10

Never seen the Daleks like this before, this was an amazing episode and I can't wait until next weeks episode. This has set up, in my opinion, the perfect two-parter. Up until now, 9/10, seeing as the story isn't complete, but if the next part is just as good (and it looks even better by the clips), then this'll be my first 10/10 for series 3.
I think the time period and setting is perfect, really adds to the story, and it was well acted by all parts.

This was an excellent episode. It was interesting how Sec is now questioning the Dalek beliefs regarding their own supermacy. He strikes me as a sort of Dalek counterpart to De Gaulle.
I look forward to next weeks.

yeah. but I found it weird for the Dalek to come in at the last second and say "hey, you're not on there mate" (or words to that effect) you'd think he'd object to it when they plotted it.

An enjoyable episode. I liked the setting, and the acting was quite good all around, especially from the actor who played Solomon (really liked his character). The pig-slaves were an interesting idea, and it makes sense that the Daleks would need humanoid slaves, but I'm not sure why they specifically crossed them with pigs. I found that to be a bit of a plot hole... I think they just wanted to do people up as pigs. Also, I can sort of understand the Dalek motivation for the whole "evolution" thing, but it's still a little iffy of a concept to me, and I'm not too sure about the half human Dalek. Surely it should be a little closer to a Dalek and a little less like a human. Meh. Still and all though, the episode gets a solid 8 out of 10 from me. Here's hoping next week's conclusion will be able to top it.

Yeah, Hugh Quarshie is a great actor. Granted, I've never watched his main show, Holby City but I still like him.
Fine episode - 8.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him it was really quite hypnotic.

I really have been impressed by th high standard of shows that have been shown so far and I'm looking forward to the second part. Anybody got an idea on what might happen?

well, obviously, the Doctor is going to win. one thing I like about this story is that it isn't really linked to any running plot in the series, just a normal Dalek episode.

If all Daleks eventually evolve into that, I wonder how they're going to exterminate..?

I really think that this season has had some of the best opening stories so far, and this one is keeping the trade strong. And I'm interested to see what this Hybrid Dalek will meet for the future of the Dalek race... probably not much, but its still fun to watch.

Thats exactly what I want to know. A Dalek isn't a Dalek unless its a Pepperpot of Death. Now it just looks like something that would blow away in the wind. Hardly an all powerful killing machine eh?

I find it strange that they will be able to create a whole new race when it takes 1 dalek to make 1 human dalek unless they manage to create a cloning device and overrun the world ! would be good to see dalek win for once , but dr who will always prevail.
